Treason (2022)
Edgy, tense, twists & turns...down a rabbit hole & more
I liked it. Acting is convincing, characters well developed It's tense & the pace is moving at a good gallop. There's lots of riders chasing the fox...but who is the fox or foxes? Who the riders? I've read the other reviews...so much anger...everyone has an opinion, we are all different...expecting it to be this or they should of done that...yes maybe...I have those thoughts too BUT I liked it! It was entertaining, the story, characters, situations that unfolded, giving it an energy that pushed it along, to places that surprised...IMHO. & we all have those. So I say watch it & make up your own mind. You'll know soon enough.
Andor (2022)
ADDICTED.
Brilliant in story, direction, acting, depth of characters, action scenes...I could go on...I will...it's just so tight, editing script, oozes tension with a reality with every meaningful scene. You can taste the gritty reality, the situations the characters have to go through. The evil facing those in the rebellion, with their backs against the wall who are fighting an insidious regime that has no mercy for those that will stand up and fight back any way they can. The sense of urgency as the story & characters unfold into, danger lurks everywhere. A truely excellent story glued together with fantastic performances from the actors & the director's treatment. More please.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Spincter clenching stuff!
It's got everything going on, tense tense action, fantastical mind numbing visuals, with full on grabs the viewer involvement creating a reality escaping entertaing gore galore packed movie. Non stop, life threating visuals, buckets of action pourings all over you. Yes, IMHO, I really loved it!!!
Jack Ryan (2018)
Brilliant, great stories, excellent action!!!
I loved all of it!!! The tense stories were so entertaining as we're the wide variety of characters & the action they were involved in was edge of the seat stuff! I was in the story, it grabbed you in & took you on that ride of involvment. The direction across all episodes had consistent & great pacing to it & kept you involved & moving forward with the unfolding stories, IMHO.
Bear Island (1979)
Loved it.
What an environment to make a film. For me I loved it. Actors were great.
The story I liked & how it unfolds, pacing of film was pushed along at a steady pace, & always involving action mystery. Great photography & some comments in film...so relevant today, why didnt we listen back then & do something about it then 🤔
Poslední rána (2020)
Too short!
Great, gritty, has an edgy story/ situation, atmosphere, effects done really well as is the acting. Wanted more. Great start to the rest of the film?🙏
The Quiller Memorandum (1966)
Oh dear
Slow, very slowly moves forward to an even slower pace, with zero excitement, zero action. Great to fall asleep to.
Hell Is for Heroes (1962)
Mix bag of grunts battle themselves & the Germans
OK. Everyone is different. We all like stuff that others may cringe at, like, agree on etc. So this is what I liked, didn't thought of etc.
For me this film was not the best. The film was gritty in appearance, black & white, which really, I thought, was a great creative decision to make to shoot it that way. It added a lot to the feel/atmosphere to the film.
The characters were good, and I felt worked well developing the story but a kinda formula that's repeated a lot in early films of this genre. A usual mixture of characters, ranging from funny, then a fall guy, the only me guy, the serious guy the troubled guy (McQueen)
The environment, budget film? $2,500,000 (estimated) shot in the states so the terrain the film was played out in just wasn't war torn European enough for me, although the tank traps on the German side look convincing!
McQueen. Held the whole thing together. Great performance with the underlying possibility that he could explode any second. Love him in this film.
Action sequences were pretty good actually. Well done. Worth watching? Yes. Maybe a 2nd look. BUT See the film make up your own mind. ;^)
