Starling (2023)
A must watch heartfelt film
Watching such a beautifully crafted 2D animation is a truly exceptional experience. This short film adeptly finds a delicate equilibrium between humor and a moving exploration of grief. The intricate world-building and depiction of 1990s Istanbul are absolutely enthralling. "Starling" is a film that entices with its captivating visuals and vividly stylized characters. The fact that the storyline draws inspiration from the director's friend lends a personal touch to the narrative. It's remarkable to discover that Mitra, the director, is an emerging talent in the animation community, and "Starling" marks her impressive directorial debut. This undoubtedly piques my interest in her future projects. Don't hesitate; hurry to catch this short film!
