The Shack (2017)
Centred around Christianity, but look beyond the Religion and there lies a powerful message.
I found this film because I love Octavia Spencer and Tim Mcgraw. It's true that this is a film based in religion, and I'm really not religious, in fact I'm not sure what I believe, but look beyond that storyline and there is still a profound lesson in life regardless of your beliefs. The story follows a broken man who meets up with God, Jesus and I'm assuming the Holy Spirit following the kidnapping and murder of his daughter. The film actually works hard to do away with the old "good Christian" way of thinking and delves into the human condition. It is a beautiful film, that makes you stop and think it you actually watch the film without judgement of who believes what and it does well to highlight that not everything is necessarily what it seems when you stand in judgement of someone else. Whether you believe in God, another Higher Power or nothing at all, the underlying message is the same, life is to precious and too short to allow for pain and grief to eat at you, enjoy your life and be the best you can be.
Grey's Anatomy (2005)
Those complaining about shows covering the events of 2020 are everything that is wrong with the world
I am soo sick of reading reviews about how people have an issue with TV shows covering the events of a year that changed millions of lives in a way that alot of people did not see coming. The people that have an issue with shows coving inequality, racism and the utter awful behaviour of the human race are the ones we can thank for why this world is so screwed up. If it's uncomfortable for you, you need to ask why...
I personally love this show and its perfect mix of seriousness and silliness. This past 11 months has been cruel and unusual and it is only right for that to be reflected.
The Christmas Heart (2012)
Wonderful Heart Warming Story
I loved watching this film. It's not the biggest film with a never ending budget and lots of special effects, but it does tell story and carries a really important message and it does it very well. It shows the power of compassion, co- operation, determination & community, but also shows that we all have the ability to make a difference if you are committed enough. If you watch this film and you finish it not having thought about what you should be thankful for and/or you don't feel even slightly uplifted, you are either cold hearted or have missed the point of the film. Don't read between the lines & try to over think it, just watch it & let yourself go along with the story line.
