Class Action Park (2020)
What did I just watch?
Ugh this documentary made me cringe. I thought it was going to be about the awful and tragic deaths of people and the aftermath. I wish they glorified the victims and their families instead of the "good old times" in this crazy water park and it's narcissistic owner.
Instead you get 40 year old former employees and guests (who are obviously still teenagers at heart), constantly and unnecessarily dropping the "F" bomb.
There were times where it felt like it was going to make a turn and dive deep into the criminal activities and the lawsuits but then it would stop all of a sudden, giving you very little information. For instance there was a woman who lost her job because of the owner and she basically hated him but then she got to know him in a different way and saw his good qualities?! You are left wondering what? How? Why? But that's it. There's no depth to it.
Simply disappointing and underwhelming in my opinion.
Dig Deeper - Das Verschwinden von Birgit Meier (2021)
This case could have been solved in 6 months...
And this documentary could have been told in two episodes. I think Netflix has a great selection of true crime docs. I must have watched every single one it has to offer. I would rate this one as one of the average ones. The storytelling is good, the production and all the other technical stuff is good. But it's way too long. I actually dozed off at the end of episode 2 and I never doze off when watching a true crime documentary.
