Over the Top (1987)
Better than many people think.
I really thought that this film was fodder! Very simplistic and basic film making.
I've seen it a few times.
But I have watched it again and realised it is more heart felt. It has love at its heart.
It is never going to be a classic, but it's a family movie until the last 15 mins. I love the relationship between father and son.
Anyway, it's better than people think. Story is overtaken by Stallone arm wrestling and the hair rock soundtrack. Actual story if great.
Rest is okay.
Back: Episode #2.6 (2021)
Comedy and normality
A really good episode of a great programme. Way it drops real issue with both comedy and pathos works so well. Great end to a really good series.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
It's Rambo, not Shakespeare
If you go to this film expecting something Oscar worthy then you are not of this planet.
If you go expecting a Rambo film with the expected Rambo elements then sit down and enjoy.
The acting is adequate. The script is adequate. The direction is adequate. The action is as expected. The storyline is good and, to be honest, the only way to have a Rambo film. You couldn't rehash another war scenario, and to see John Rambo having a human side was great, obviously before the 'Rambo' side kicked it.
I enjoyed it. Simple, because that's what is is. A Rambo film you either sit down to enjoy as is, or just don't bother sitting down.
Hancock (2008)
Difficult to review
This film is one of the best first hour of superhero films ever. Simple as that. For the first hour it is funny, clever and has the correct amount of action. It is worth a watch, until the mood and story of the film changes too much. Without spoiling it, it becomes poor. It almost feels like no one really knew how it should actually end so botched together a really poor scenario.
Kind of really like the film and hate it at the same time.
The Blacklist: Sutton Ross (No. 17) (2018)
Likely ending but great show
As I said to the wife, I saw this likely revelation coming in season 3, but was right for it to finally surface. To be honest, there has to be more to this as why would he have cared about Liz at the start of the whole season, why would her adoptive father have gone along with it. Many more questions which is the way a season should end.
I have always enjoyed this series and am looking forward to the next series.
