Dancing Queens (2021)
Dancing queens?
I will say, the MFC is such a mediocre terrible dancer. They hype this girl up as if she's so great but her dancing is like some basic b*** from a club. I'll say that the other drag queens had more sparkle than she did. I kept waiting for some actual dance skill to come out, but was left waiting.
This could have been so much more captivating if she had even a modicum of actual dance skill. Check out some Drag Race and such...you'll see some real talent.
Plus, the male character female character dynamic is a little over dramatic. Lol. It was so so. I think it had potential but for goodness sake, get an actual dancer in there!
Gyeongseong Keuricheo (2023)
Phenominal
I love that it's so different. It starts out like a thrilling horror about some strange happening resulting in a horrific monster. But it's so much more than a horror. It unfolds so beautifully and piece by piece you begin to sort out what is going on. As you do, the character development is absolutely fantastic! This show has drama, suspense, horror, and just layer upon layer of facets upon this story. The soundtrack is great. The way it's filmed is stunning. Best of all, they throw a little romance in there as well! This show has it all! One of the best Korean shows I've seen! Can't wait for season 2!!!!!!!!

Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Well I thought it was good
Look, there's a lot to set up. Back story and the introduction of characters... and a whole history to touch on. For those saying it's boring, perhaps you need a movie with more action and less story. Personally, I hate movies like that. Action packed with little to no story.
This had a lot to get through so I get why it might seem a little slow in ways. I actually found it interesting and wanted to know more. There's a lot going on and I worried that being a movie, it would rush a lot of it, but I found it was well balanced with both action and story. The graphics were good and over all I found it entertaining.
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Amazing and elegant
To be honest, this movie is so beautiful and charming. The actors did such an amazing job. Keira Knightly mad such a beautiful and elegant Elizabeth Bennet and I thought that Matthew Macfadyen captured the quiet, contemplating, and proud Mr. Darcy quite well. What I also love is that despite this being a movie instead of a series, it still captures the essence of the book beautifully. There is so much subtlety that I adore about the movie. The looks, the nuances, the gestures. You can clearly see the rising tension between the characters and I honestly feel this was the best version so far. The locations are so lovely. I also feel like the Bennet sisters really match their parts, acting their ages and being silly, and the mother, who was perfectly dramatic and easily frazzled. Sadly, we didn't see as many Bingley sisters as portrayed in the book, but the two siblings that were in the film did amazing. Mr. Bingley was cute and goofy while his sister perfectly catty. In truth I've watched this film over twenty times. I've read the book at least three times and can no longer picture the characters any other way. Wonderfully done.
Destined with You (2023)
The main characters are so annoying!
Well, it started out good.
Sadly, it started to tank. The main female character is such a fool in so many ways. After finding an ancient spell book, she decides to cast one but like a fool, does it so stupidly to where everyone ends up getting affected. Then the question is, do the spells even work? Still, she is asked to remedy this situation but screws it up. I think because secretly she wants it to fail.
Meanwhile the main male character pursues Hong-Jo even though he's in a relationship. He goes after her so much that it gets them in trouble, yet when confronted, he doesn't really take any responsibility.
Then, a stalker enters into the picture. While Shin-yu worries over Hong-Jo, he helps buy her some items for self defense. Yet does she use any of them when she should? No.
I'm struggling to keep watching this. The main male character is a coward who can't even end his relationship while interested in another while he keeps putting himself in situations where he can get caught. Even if it's under superstitious circumstances, take a break, end it, just till it gets sorted.
The main female character is an idiot who acts like the typical foolish damsel in distress who needs a man to constantly save her. Yet if she wasn't so stupid, it would be a lot easier to root for her.
The Mother (2023)
So many dumb things that happened
Began watching this movie and from the get go it was a bit silly. The details! Come on!
It starts out with a wolf with Shiba Inu looking dogs as the pups with totally different coloring from the mom and curly tails. Why not have malamute pups? At least then the tails wouldn't curl and they'd look more accurately like wolf pups.
Then, the main character is getting interviewed and it was clear, everyone was pretty idiotic....except for the main character it would seem. Not sure if it was to help make her stand out or not, but it was a little ridiculous. The FBI agents were so incompetent that no wonder they were all getting picked off.
Then, later on, the main character's kid is found out and in danger. So? The main character goes to check it out. First of all, if you knew things were sketchy, why become a sniper without a spotter? She should have been found out even sooner than she was. Again, no wonder things go wrong. Then, the guardian FBI agent was such a damsel in distress! Goodness!
I love how everywhere the main character goes, all the bikes she steals all just have their keys left in them and are ready to be stolen and ridden away.
Then, as you think things are getting back on track, the bad guys come and cause a car accident at a cross section with nothing in sight for miles. Not even a tree. So when the FBI agent driver gets hit by the enemy vehicle, it's like, wow, really? You didn't see that coming? There's nothing obstructing your view for miles!!!!!!
One of the worst lines in the movie was "...not with that standardized FBI holster." This FBI agent was undercover? I mean, it's more common to have a standardized FBI issued gun, but a holster?
Anyways, the plot is relatively ok, but there were some stupid things that really made the movie a bit laughable.
Jewish Matchmaking (2023)
Considering she is a match maker...
So this started out interesting enough, and it was engaging enough... but it just seemed like the show followed a person, then after a bit, moved on without concluding much.
I kept thinking, ok, I want to see it work out, so what happens with that?
Then we get to the very end and I was still left thinking that.
I thought it was so funny that this show was about this match maker yet I didn't really see her close on any clients! Like what the heck?
Not a single one showed any actual success!
This show should have been called Jewish Dating.
That's all it was! Like why is there even a picture of a wedding dress in the show's cover? Not a single wedding was shown. Not a single client made it that far on the show.
Sahmaran (2023)
Unique and interesting
I feel like from the very start, this story was unique.
What I love is that they're expanding on an old story from Turkish lore. If you look that up, some of this will make sense.
It's filmed in such an interesting way. It's sort of like a slow burning romance mixed with suspense and mysticism.
The character development was quite absorbing and it left me feeling drawn in even more to the story.
I really really hope the make a second season. This was by far more different than anything else I've seen and I love it for that. The acting be was well done.
The more I saw the more invested I became. Which is why I want a season 2!
Warrior Nun (2020)
First season wasn't bad, second is meh
The first season was pretty good aside from how annoying the main female character, Ava, was. I get it, she's naive...and selfish and a little stupid. She does grow through the season at least. The other characters were pretty cool in season one.
Season two, Ava is still a little dumb, but tries to act like a leader, which is silly. Especially because everyone sort of lets her. Actually, I feel like a couple of the main female characters get stupider in season two where season one they were pretty bad a**.
But here's where it gets weird. Most of season one Ava is lusting after a cute European guy. Never once does she look at females or take any romantic interest in them. Then, season two, it flips. Suddenly she's no longer into guys but girls? I feel like that takes away from the actual storyline and the behavior shift is distracting. I'm not against her being bi or anything, if her behavior was consistent through season one and two...but it's not. That's why it's distracting.
Also, brandy was invented in 1313, so it couldn't have existed 1,000 years ago! (Which they talk about multiple times in season 2)
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
Not as good without Johnny Depp
Though I love most of the cast from the previous fantastic beasts, I found the new movie to be lacking. Madds' Grindelwald was bland at best. Really, the show lost a lot when they didn't cast Johnny Depp and it just didn't quite have as much flare.
I do worry after seeing this, it leaves the story a little open, but am not sure just how good another movie would be after this one.
Honestly, this was probably the worst of the movies so far.
Hotel Del Luna (2019)
Enthralling
Loved the series and soundtrack.
The ending was slightly obscure but I sort of expected as much. Highly recommend.
It is a little gritty at first, but don't worry. It's not a horror show really at all.
Great character build up and with just the right amount of humor. It had a little bit of everything.
Romance
Drama
A little horror
Suspense
Comedy
Just watch it and see.
Are You the One? (2014)
Season one was cool. Season 3 sucks
First of all, season 3 is awful.
You have 2 major cheaters on the show? How can they have a perfect match?
Also, there's one guy who goes around breaking stuff and throwing a violent tantrum, and there's no repercussions???
This show clearly only cares about the drama. So fake.

A Discovery of Witches (2018)
Why are they changing things?!
Ok first off,
Why is Matthew so damn skinny? He was supposed to be really tall and very built. Like an athlete.
Next, why is Gillian so buddy buddy with Diana?! Not to mention she looked nothing like what was in the book.
In the book they weren't friends. In fact Diana avoided her! Then, Matthew was supposed to kill Gillian before they went to Sept-Tours! And it was made to look like a suicide.
Everything it also moving rather fast in the show making Diana look idiotic for loving Matthew in just a matter of days.
So far it's disappointing how much it's straying from the original story.
Married at First Sight (2014)
Interesting, but in some cases, I wonder
So it's intriguing.
I feel like In some ways the "Speacalist" set these guys up to struggle.
In one instance Matt & Amber has their wedding and NO ONE told the MC that his parents didn't come even though he mentioned it before the actual wedding. So the MC made it painfully awkward when she kept announcing the mother son dance and no mom was coming. They could have updated the MC. But they didn't. Dramatic affect. Also, they sort of build up the "first night" and prey on the drama of if they will sleep together or not.
If they had their true happiness at heart, they would be more helpful as tips for getting to know each other or being more comfortable around one another. More Counseling and communication tools as they go for t first few weeks at least. It gets a bit better throughout the end of the season but some couples really need more help as they begin to do more damage to others left to their own devices for too long. One couple in particular gets really bad and I feel like the experts just keep dragging it out trying to keep them together despite that it gets to a level of toxicity that even ends in violent outbursts. It's frustrating to watch them spiral into a darker and darker place.
But aside from that...
My biggest pet peeve in a few beginning episodes was a HORRIBLE camera man. Throughout the honey moon they couldNOT focus on Amber. A couple other honeymoon elides some other characters are blurry and they can't seem to figure it out.
Spinning Out (2020)
Hooked unexpectedly
Was between shows when I saw the commercial. It was gripping and quite intense. But the story unfolds and really just does a good job of developing the characters and giving each different backgrounds and challenges. Planned only to watch 1 episode to try it out as me and my fiancé were between shows...and bunged 5 episodes in 1 night. So far it's very good, with real live problems and relatable topics. The actors are doing marvelous and it just sucked us right in.
Definitely recommend. Funny enough, we were from Idaho so it was interesting to see some mention of that in the shows...though it was clearly not filmed in Idaho at all. It was still kind of neat to hear them talk about it, as we loved living there.
A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish (2019)
Not bad but the vocals! Terrible
I think it was a cute over all movie.
Musical which was fun.
I just wish they didn't over process the vocals.
It sounded like sad robots trying to sing.
But I wish that they would have made it a little more natural.
The Competition (2018)
Sadly some of the worst acting I've seen
Yes, I was excited to see a cute romantic comedy and in the season of fall... was in LOVE with hocus pocus...
So...I gave this a shot being that Dani all grown up stars in this little flick.
But...it's awful! Everyone throughout is over acting and then with awkward pauses...it was terrible. It's very blah. There just isn't much to any of the lines and it feels so awkward watching it all.
Very disappointing
I gave a 3 star for the fact it could have been better I think. Even if this sort of story line is played out a bit too much. I think it could have been better for sure.
Extreme Engagement (2019)
A LOT of conflict
I initially liked the story platform.
To see this couple learn about relationships from different cultures from around the world.
But, sadly, it seems these 2 barely even know each other.
From a self centered man child and a girly girl that hates anything outdoors, the tension from their negativity and lashings they deal one another is hard to watch episode after episode.
I will admit, I love PJ's willingness to try to make things work and to go out and doing this adventure despite this laying way out of her comfort zone. She participates and tries things despite not feeling comfortable with it. So kudos for her on that. However, she complains almost non-stop through each episode. So that gets a bit old.
Tim is probably the most annoying as he just acts like this boy adventurer and dragging PJ all around hoping she will change her from the girly girl to the Tarzan and Jane storybook romance he craves. He has a better relationship with himself and his camera than he does with the woman he supposedly loves. He seems to put everything else as a priority before her. So it does bring out more frustration and conflict.
I think couples counseling prior to this big adventure may have helped a lot of things. But I guess we will see how things go.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Couldn't get into it
I loved both the mummy and the mummy returns.
With a historical spin and fantasy infusion, It had just enough quips of humor to keep you entertained while not having too much focus on action scenes and gore which can make a movie less substantial in the story line. But what I also liked in those first 2 was that this historical action fantasy tied in some romance and drama to boot for depth on several fronts. It was a well rounded story for both Mummy and Mummy Returns.
This 3rd one however, despite having an intriguing back in the past intro, the present story is dry even forced perhaps.
The new MrS. O'Connell (Maria Bello) really over did the roll from the original mellow sweet Rachel Weisz turning the character into an over dramatic retiree desperately hanging on to the adventures of the past and trying hard to spark romance between her and her husband in the present.
Even the humor is stretched thin from previous movies, and with the new Mrs. O'Connell, it just didn't seem to flow between Maria Bello and Brendan Fraser. Not to mention bringing in the "older" Alex. All in all seemed a bit awkward.
Final conclusion: Was very disappointed. Couldn't stay focused, and felt that some of the major characters weren't ones that felt real...taking away from the story and seemed more like those of B rated movies and bad acting with bouts of awkwardness.
Tidelands (2018)
Captivating show!
Holy cow they really put a new spin on edge of your seat trying to figure out what's going on.
I liked the show, the general acting (though there were a couple crappy ones), and storyline.
The only thing I feel was a bit overdone was ALL the sex. I mean it was like a Roman orgy....everyone sleeping with each other. I don't mind a sexy show but I swear everyone was doing each other and then doing everyone else, it was a bit overkill.
Aside from that, it was pretty good and the season of course ended with the biggest hanger of them all! Hope to see a season 2!
Barely Lethal (2015)
Silly cute
I think the only thing I really had to complain about is that the foreign exchange student had an American accent. Could have even tried to fake one. Lol otherwise it was cute.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again: Waterloo (2018)
Loved it more than the 1st!
It was a great plot and the music was amazing! Well done.
I think it's funny the younger selves of a couple didn't have the same eye color though. Lol.
Outside of that they did a phenomenal job. Prepare for tears! There was quite a few towards the end.
How It Ends (2018)
Had serious potential....but now what?
Unless they plan for a sequel to tie up the plot...
I was really disappointed in how it ended. I think that's how it earned it's title.
"How it ends"
I'm now left thinking, 'exactly...how is that? How does it end?'
Can anyone tell me?
With massive continental aftermath of who knows what with governmental teams and downed plains, derailed trains in perfect weather....no electricity but cars with computers still driving...random earthquakes, weird storms...people loosing their minds, going psychotic as we all can expect in the end of the world...but is it? And is anywhere else affected or isnit just the US? Where did the jets go to? Why was military machinery ditched and left for the taking as we later see a derailed train?
And from what exactly?
Tsunamis? volcanos? Earths poles switching? Magnetic fields all askew? Aliens? Act of warfare? The world's plates shifting? Solar flares or forces bigger than even that?
Anything...?
I was satisfied to see that Theo's Trendy character gained a few brain cells through his journey. He was rather useless and stupid at first, but we all must admit, some people would be quite naive to the situations unfolding and how to deal with it. That's not unrealistic.
I liked that He seemed to grow as a character through the movie, that much was fine.
But then what?
It all just leaves the majority of each issue introduced into the film then left completely unanswered and open ended.
THAT was VERY Dissatisfying.
Let me give you an idea similar in the frustration of if:
-------
*imagine; the world's best American football game playing out, thrilling and each time so close! One gets ahead, then the other, and it's now the 3rd quarter and DONE! Everything just up and stopped right at the end of the third quarter with each team only 7 points apart! But it's over! Done! Quitting with a full quarter left in the game and everyone starts walking away, leaving the game unfinished. Questions of, who would have won left hanging in the air.
**Or here's another example: It's like being called into your boss's office, how nerve wracking is that? So you go, sit down. Your boss looks serious, a file on their desk, your name on it and you think, 'I'm going to get fired today...'
The Boss then starts telling you about your work and achievements, going on, while you nervously wait for the "but"...and hour goes by and you wait....the boss keeps talking about you and then drops a hint, asking how you feel about your position and if you're doing the best you can. You wonder, if you were going to get fired, why even bring up the achievements? Maybe it's a raise? Maybe it's just the buffer before the bad news? But before you can answer, WHAM! The boss suddenly ends the meeting, tells you to go and you don't even know why they asked you there in the first place, wasting an hour of your time and left wondering if your job is on the line.
--------
I get open ended movies leaving a few questions unanswered, but this whole movie seemed pointless. It presented problems, possibilities, potential sources to the issues and things to theorize on.
Then it leaves you with absolutely NOTHING to even try to answer for it all with....
I will admit...there was one answered question:
Was his girlfriend alive? Only question answered. Even that whole situation revolving around her survival and such was weird and lacking details.
So?
Will there be a second????!!!!!!!!
If not, I would rate this only 2 stars.
1 for the effects and suspense of the situation.
The second for a semi good plot start off and decent actors in the face of the world ending.
I rated it 3 because I seriously hope there will be a second.
