An error has ocurred. Please try againDecided to add yu-gi-oh and pokemon too since they were childhood favourites. DBZ too but that can also be for an older audience. Again I'm not into the childish humor and over the top stuff you get in anime. So if you're looking for mature (for the most part) anime with good plots and characters then this list is for you. There are obvious a couple of childish sorta ones. If you've watched anime you'll know what I mean. However the ones that are like that (only a few) are still great due to other aspects that help you overlook it.
There are a few on the list people will say shouldn't be there like Bleach and Sword Art Online. But I think it's just people slamming mainstream series because they like to appear as an individual. They are actually two of the best shows on the list. The plot/story development and character development is spot on along with the voice acting.
I've listed them in no particular order although I have put some of my favourites at the top.

Debunking Borat (2021)
Don't bother with the bad reviews
So if you like Borat then you'll like this series. It's just pure satire. A lot of Americans can't understand satire and the US in general make politics their life. So when you remove the satire you're left with Borat just making politics and conspiracies look silly. Almost all the reviews that are 1 star are anger because of this. They make it evident in what they say. Political agendas and all this when it's just a satirical comedy.
So just ignore them and try it.
The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson (2019)
Not a great movie at all
If you go in with the perspective that it isn't anything to do with the case or what happened then it's mildly entertaining with a level of suspense. Feel really sorry for Mena Suvari. She's a really good actress and she did give the role her full focus and effort. Despite how badly the narrative and script was written. Casting was terrible. Some of the actors were okay but for the most part it looked like extras had been pulled in for the infrequently filmed cast. There was only a few actors that made an effort. It really shows. Once she starts being dragged up the wall by ghosts or whatever it was meant to be, I gave it half an hour and stopped. Might have continued if I didn't have it in my head that the movie was based on fact and on the case. I wouldn't recommend though.
666 Park Avenue (2012)
Interesting, Twisting, Thrilling... Until the end (I would recommend reading this spoiler)
Not sure if the reviews written previously concluded all the way up till episode 13 - actually I doubt they did. I've came on to write a review to save you a good few wasted hours of your life. I really can't understand the previous positive reviews.
After watching the first few episodes I thought this is going to be a great TV series. So interesting and different. Revolves around a hotel run and owned by a devil like character who gives people what they desire in exchange for something greater to them (their life for example). Then Jane comes along (the lead female) and throughout the series you feel she is slowly beginning to find out the owner's secret. Every episode you're hoping she unravels what is really going on; uncovering Gavin (the owner's secret) and the secret of the hotel. Then out of nowhere in the last episode she joins with him in the biggest/quickest twist I think I've ever witnessed in a TV show and it was so disappointing because it leaves you thinking where can the series possibly go from there - no more heroine. If it wasn't based on a novel I would have guessed the writes decided to change things right before filming the 13th episode. What you have anticipated the whole way through it turns to ashes in about 30 seconds. Was such a good idea too but I really wish I didn't begin watching it.
Lost Highway (1997)
Biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen
Sat down with my second half hoping to watch a good movie with a twist and I genuinely haven't watched a bigger pile rubbish in my life.
I seem to be seeing all these people reviewing it saying "oh what art". probably the people you see in art galleries staring at a painting with someone else, pointing at it for an hour. Shouldn't need to analyse a film to understand it. You should be able to just watch it and enjoy it.
Honestly genuinely, genuinely the worst movie I have ever seen. If you don't want to listen to sane people that have reviewed this - give it 5 minutes and see what you think.
A lot of staring, walking and weird music !
