Charlie Bartlett (2007)
A wonderful film with opportunities to learn for both parents and kids
I just saw Charlie Bartlett tonight on the internet and will again see it in theatres when it comes out. "Charlie" was an incredible film, with mixed emotions from every character. I am a high school student so this film connected very well to me, on both the comedic and dramatic occasions. If you're looking for typical teenage/high school movies this film may not be for you. Charlie Bartlett is a boy that has gotten kicked out of private school on many occasions, and tries out public school for a change. He learns that most kids have many problems including himself and tries to help them all out. It's quite genuine and Charlie reminds me of a little "Ferris Bueler." He ends up getting into a big mess as expected and becomes a regular kid for once. This is one of the few "dramatic" movies I will watch and enjoy because of my guy instincts, but thats mainly because its a comedy also and connects to me very well. It was the perfect movie for when you're sad, happy, bored, or anything. I give it 8.8-9 out of 10 stars.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (2007)
Almost perfect
WOW is one magnificent, short, and simple but powerful word one can say about Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock. Improved a lot on the graphics, hammer-on/pull-off system, and bonuses. The songs are amazing, they range from The Rolling Stones to Cream to Tenacious D. The Battle Mode system was pretty strange at first, but I grew to have a lot of fun with it. I also think it was pretty smart that they added a co-op career that got you even more unlockable songs. I have the PS2 version, so the loading takes FOREVER which is one of the only downfalls. I personally like the character Metalhead which is only for the PS2/Wii and thought that the 360-PS3 "God of Rock" was sort of unoriginal. Lou, the Devil was awesome and I love how it was actually like a career mode with the cut scenes. THey could've done better on some minor stuff, such as the very annoying loading time for the PS2, but its an amazing game. Another problem I noticed while playing the 360 version was that the guitar was way too sensitive with star power and that it set off too easy. I'm sure GH4 will be perfect, and I also think they should make editions like Rock THe 70's but w/stuff like GH:Metal Mania or GH: Punk edition. 9/10
