Oustanding success for the French premiere in Paris!
31 October 2018
Born in 77, I did not discover Queen until the end of the 80s. But his songs have long reasoned in me like a little cry of freedom in some difficult moments... until today when I rediscovered in a context more precise the life of their author and the universe in which they were created. This film is interesting to understand the sweet madness of the 80s. And it is beautifully played among others by Malek. Pushed to the pinnacle of his art he has now before him a magnificent career as an actor on the international scene. What a talent ! He is incredibly fair in Mr. Robot but poignant in this compositional role of Freddie Mercury. It is also an opportunity to rediscover the hidden meaning of the lyrics, to live again coming out during the 80s, the beginning of the disease, the relative artistic madness of this era ... The success in France is real, the film was released today in theaters in Paris, a room of 550 people applauded at the end ... I rarely saw this ... thank you to all the team for making us live a pure moment of happiness! ! a must see!

MAKE LOVE NOT WALLS!
25 August 2018
Come one...This can't be the end....that's just impossible!

I've just watched the two season nearly in a row and I have to admit I'm quite chocked it has actually ended.

I don't think I can remember such a good tv show for the past 10 years. Everything's in it. The writing is extremely deep. The filming location list is outstanding which must have cost a fortune to the production by the way. The acting is just thrilling and the strength of the actors has been to be able to keep their own cultural identity in an international team and worldwide set.

As a 40 years old gay french Parisian, I've been extremely concerned by the several underlying messages of the Wachowskis. It's all about respect, tolerance, open-mindedness and above all... LOVE which makes the rest so much obvious and natural that you don't even think about it.

I guess this is one of the most modern and visionary tv-show (as Matrix 20 years ago) that has been made for a long time. As Millenials currently reinvent digital socialization, we are now all connected and able to understand each other. For those who need information in order to feel reassured and to understand how two men can live together for instance, or how a girl can have two men if her life or any other question related to sexual identity, it's no more a question of having or not access to information but more a question of willing to understand. 30 years ago, in my far countryside where I was born, the internet did not help us to break silence and to accept ourselves as we were. But today, things have completely changed and Sense8 perfectly represents what our world has become.

Another great strength of the show is to tell us a whole fairy tale with implausible situation while it goes straight to the point regarding the power of lobbies in politics, the economic deviance of the pharmaceutical industry, the uncertain daily life of an actor or how two girls make love. And the Washowskis have perfectly understood since the beginning of their career that being entertained is vital to spreading the word.

There is still so much to do, so much to say, so much to show and to explain to those who are blind, who suffer from loneliness or who need a tv-show to explain their unique and unconditional love to humanity. This can't be the end. Once more, Lana, Lilly and Joseph, you showed us that love was the only thing that matters. (with marketing if I may add... because the show has been poorly promoted, in France anyway).Money shouldn't clip the wings of your aspirations. For what could become the most unique and unforgettable tv show of all time....

Let's make a Sense8 fundraising, shall we ?!?

Love from Paris

Great TV show! highly cultural and deeply entertaining
20 October 2012
despite Despite few historical mistakes and some approximations, this rare show is highly cultural in which a great number of European art reference is done. No surprise if this kind of shows works so well in Europe. it is true, there are some historical approximation but at least, this is one of the rare current TV show to tell stories about art and culture. What a a good feeling. come on. Have you seen the number of TV shows which the subject is based on murder and medical studies and investigations and cops? it's Saturday night, we are watching in France the last 3 episodes of the 3rd season and Neal is discussing his taste of art with his colleague and friend. A clever TV show with a true art style, a real bias and above all a sense of art de vivre through fine dress and good tastes. I love it, I love the way we're not simply talking about a thief in each episode but also a way to perceive this reality that surrounds us. Many scenes are based on clever courses, the way an action is ended up thought we though it would end a different way, and tricks and unpredictable moments; Because this TV show from the beginning to the last episode is base on unpredictability. I would love that everybody would see the TV show as I see it but please, give it a try and try to go beyond the fact it's a TV show. Every episode could be seen as a whole movie in itself. Truly. and that's the sign of a exquisite TV show

Dans la lignée de The ring ou The eye
15 October 2012
that's an excellent starting. Palpable tension, multiple tracks usable, beautiful photo, the characters are well defined. a little but not too much fantastic. It makes me think of the ring or the eye. To you, screenwriters, avoid falling into the ultra fantastic stuff. For now this is perfect. And do not forget that music is important so pay attention to the choice of titles! I like when some scene tend to remind me some episodes of Tales from The Crypt. I like the use of black, and every thing that could evoke our current time is diluted into this heavy, timeless atmosphere. keep going, that's an extremely modern and original piece of work! Bravo!

Few episodes later : Vanessa Williams is just perfect. Thanks for the casting, they did not make any mistake at all. She perfectly incarnates this dark side of the hotel with a bit of sweetness and empathy which are accurately balanced. Great! Do not hesitate to give her more impact in the show, a greater role that should go crescendo according to me.

The strenght of the show so far is not to play on sci-fi effects or gore stuffs but truly on fear and regarding this matter it's certainly one of the series at the moment which succeeds so well to do so.

I like the reference to The Birds or Farehneit 451 in the last episode which shows that there's a real willing to make quality.

Good music choice so far keep going this way.I hope the french audience will appreciate this show as much as I like it.

a master piece of cynicism and worldwide company ambiance depicting

i can't remember have seen such a fine TV show for a long time. stunning season finale and more generally, a great quality TV show. this is due to true personalities of its characters and its magnetics actors. i bet it's gonna be a blockbuster in France where the show hasn't been released yet. please, keep going making such artistic choice for TV and congratulations for every guy who participates by any means to the creation of this show. and don't you dare to inform us by the end of the year that the show is over due to a lack of audience of any other stupid excuse.

Magnificent series. incisive, accurate, stylish. probably one of the best on the market today. its actors, playing the card of the seduction and the aristocratic coolness contribute mainly to the success of the series as well as the way the director decided to show New york.

Flee!
31 May 2012
useless, annoying, failed, desesperant, leave the room as you can. no story, no concept, no future. people were yelling at the end. most of them had already left. I wonder how the film director could have done not to bored himself. should be forbidden from the theaters. there's nothing to tell about this film. You just sit and watch the most terrible thing ever. I wonder how we could have the idea to dare show this in cinema nowadays. And lord knows that in France we have had our great pieces of failed art as well as sometimes it may be a bit talkative or useless. honestly, don't spend 10 euros to see that, there's nothing in that movie that can be used or think about or even be the subject of any conservation whatsoever.

Divine punishment or true madness?
17 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The storm and more generally the psychological climbing around these natural events may evoke a violent punishment that the father wishes to impose to himself. His daughter became deaf recently as we learn that the parents kept their habits. I do not think we know the cause of her deafness, but the father probably couldn't forgive himself easily The storm and the clouds of birds, also have a biblical sense. A divine punishment because the men had behaved badly? For what offense? Speaking of the train accident and the gas cloud, the film also shows that we are daily assailed by devastating news via media and we can hardly escape from that. And this can help to create a kind of paranoia, a certain fear of the end of the world due to polluting pictures and news. Yes, "prevention is better than cure" and any kind of insurance likes to remind it to us today especially in our western society. This sometimes leads to gorging on drugs including antidepressants but we also need to remind us that fear does not avoid danger. And the final storm probably shows that despite our convictions we're all able to succumb to a moment of madness.

Burn Out?
6 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
One of the greatest film I've seen for the past few years about the acceptance of oneself. I'm not sure the question is to know whether she has aids. As edorapetrafiesa perfectly said in lower discussion, she became to be allergic to the whole world. And even more to herself. I guess she couldn't stand the person her entourage asked her to become. Her lack of self confidence from a long time coming from former failed relationship (this is not her child implying that regarding her age, it's not her first husband neither) + her desire to control the least detail of her life and you have a perfect cocktail of burn out and depression. No doubt anyway this movie is about Aids and the way the illness was perceived in the eighties. A perfect mirror movie to understand why and how sometimes we locked ourselves into social plays and the consequences for those who don't master the rules (personnally I haven't :)

Intimate and delicate
2 May 2012
maybe it's because it reminds me the hard time I've had in my twenties to figure out how I could tell a guy I loved him but I love this movie which is quite simple in terms of plot and acting. It's merely due to the two actors of course that let us think they discover the feelings for each others as well as their potential acting on the screen. Both of them don't seem to be famous in Argentina but they would deserve to go further in their acting career.

Great movie, photo is undoubtedly gorgeous (I loved the colors of the buildings - quite impressionist view of the city) and I definitely recommend it to people for its delicate and simple way to show the carefulness we may use sometimes before going further into a relationship and also the ambiguity straight men relationship may have regarding the way they express their feelings to each other.
