SEAL Team (2017)
Anti-PC reviewers are delusional
First, let me say that the people who call this a PC filled TV show clearly didn't even bother watching the damn show or at least pay attention to it. The DEVGRU team the show depicts DOES NOT HAVE A WOMAN OPERATOR! She's an NCO that works with the spec ops teams. She's not on the team itself. She doesn't even have a trident on her uniform so get your freaking facts straight you geniuses.
I'm not military and my only knowledge of DEVGRU SEALs and SEALs, in general, are via the autobiographies ex-operators have written and internet research. Comparing and contrasting, it's fairly accurate thus far. But let's remember this is a TV show. If they wanted to make these things 100% accurate, then it'd be kind of boring. The realism complaints I kind of agree with but at the same time, the people need to make it interesting and there needs to be tense situations. Look at it this way, every martial arts movie is just choreography. People don't fight like that AT ALL. All of those quick movements of striking and defending is NOT REAL. But it makes for fun scenes doesn't it? So would you rather have fun or accurate? There can be a mix of both which the creators need to learn how to balance.
From what I know is accurate thus far.. 1) Green team selection process. The whole top 5 bottom 5 is real. 2) DEVGRU equipment. In ep. 9, Davis tells Spencer he can basically get whatever he wants for gear and that his time on Team 3 was the exact opposite. According to an autobiography, that is true. DEVGRU basically get a blank check when it comes to gear. Need extras of anything? No problem.
They even put in some real missions that have occurred for example, in ep. 8 where they exchange AQ prisoners for an AWOL US soldier did actually happen.
The part that bugs me is the lack of people. The main team seems to vary in number per each mission. Considering how many characters GOT has, this show can have a lot more characters.

Twinsters (2015)
Heartwarming and precious
When I first heard about this movie, I had saw their initial kickstarter campaign and was about to donate but saw it had already been fulfilled and then some. As I anxiously awaited for the film to come out, the story did not disappoint at all. The music, the animations and the overall cinematography is extremely well-done. Their story is pretty amazing when you think about it. Anais's friend stumbled upon the initial youtube video which lead to him sharing it and all of their friends trying to reach Sam. If Sam had ignored any of it, she never would have met her sister. The only other possible way would be if either Anais or Sam got big in their professions and made it to the international level.
Seinto Seiya: Rejendo Obu Sankuchuari (2014)
The Death of Saint Seiya
**SPOILERS AHEAD**
I was so excited for this movie when it was first announced. I went to the website daily to find out what the next Gold Saint would look like and even though some of the renditions were disappointing, I was still very excited. Then the trailers came and little by little, I started to wonder what this movie was going to encompass. There were many scenes I was familiar with and others I had no idea where they had came from. Still, I wanted to be optimistic. When I was finally able to sit down and watch the movie, every second of the movie was more excruciating than the last. This movie was just as bad if not worse than The Last Airbender.
First, there's the characters. Pretty much no one is given any kind of character development or background aside from Saori Kido and that was half-assed at best. Some characters even got a complete sex change like Milo. Not that I'm sexist, but there was no ambiguity with Milo's gender yet somehow he has since became a woman? Then came Deathmask. This had to be a joke. Deathmask was a sadistic murderer who killed simply because he could. In the movie, he becomes a singing baboon and dances around like he was on Broadway. Lastly, Shura doesn't die! Not that I wanted him to because I always did like character but he was killed in the original fight yet in this movie, he is alive. What?! Lastly, Pisces gets the worse death, he gets about 30 seconds of screen time and then gets thrown out of a building and the other Saints just say 'It's Aphrodite, he's dead." End scene.
Next is the story, for a story arc with so much content, how they came up with such a ridiculous rendition is beyond me. I understand that not everything can fit in, but when you gloss over the most important details and then completely change the world this story lives in, it just makes no sense because the changes weren't necessary/crucial to the story at all. For example, Saori was found in Greece, in the movie it was changed to the Himalayas. Sanctuary is hidden within Greece but in the movie, Sanctuary is located in the clouds that is only accessible with cloth dog tags? WHAT?! The ending scene was also just as mind boggling. Saga creates some kind of giant and Seiya wins by shooting an arrow from the Sagittarius cloth but he's not wearing it normally, the cloth is still in it's minotaur form.
All in all, the visuals of this film were great but that didn't save it from the writing catastrophe it is.
Green Lantern (2011)
Tried going too big too early
I wanted to like this movie. Green Lantern is by one of the most interesting characters in the DC universe. However I think what went wrong here is how they did no character justice.
The good.. -The depiction of the Corps. Despite the poor CGI, seeing hundreds, if not thousands of Lanterns on screen was fun. Sinestro, played my Mark Strong was a great fit. The British accent is great for monologues and even better as he becomes Sinestro Corps. -Ryan Reynolds is the perfect Hal Jordan. He's sarcastic, cheeky and fits the role as the greatest lantern ever.
The bad.. -Too much CGI. From the CGI suit, CGI corps, CGI villain, It's a miracle, Reynolds wasn't CGI'd himself. Obviously, GL needs a lot of it with all of the constructs but it doesn't mean EVERYTHING has to be that way. The suit looks weird on Reynolds. It looked like someone poorly Photoshopped him and made a little too many adjustments. The mask itself could have used a bit more work as well. -The story. Campbell could have followed canon with the villains, but instead he pulls the biggest, baddest one out first and fails at it. Parallax plays such a huge role in the DC universe and just like that, he's killed? Of course, you could bring him back but I don't see how anyone but superman surviving the sun. -Too early to intro Sinestro corps. Hal Jordan and Sinestro fight alongside each other for at least a little bit before Sinestro turns yellow. This movie throws him into that spot way too fast. There's not enough character development for Sinestro for him to be a full on baddie so quickly.
Sadly, this needs a reboot already.
The Last Airbender (2010)
Waste of my life
I came into this movie with very low expectations and somehow, Shyamalan was still able to disappoint me. I don't see how he can make this film, sit back at the editing table and say to himself 'yes this is a good movie'. It is freaking mind blowing.
First, there are the names. M. Night knows he is mispronouncing them because he wants to stay 'true to the Asian influence'. Well guess what. The way they pronounce it in the cartoon is already true to Asian influence. Doesn't take a genius to see that most of the influence was from Chinese culture and for an Indian guy to say this is how you pronounce something in Chinese is ridiculous. I can kind of see the difference in Aang's name being pronounce "ang vs ong" but what about Sokka? They pronounce it 'SOAK-ah'. What the hell is that? General Iroh went from "EYE-row" to "Ear-roh". Why?
Second, he has changed the nature of bending. Fire benders don't need a "source" and can conjure fire from their own Chi. The portrayal of bending is also done poorly. Every time someone tries to bend, they have to do 2-3 lavish moves before anything even happens. It's almost like they're conjuring something up. Bending is supposed to be an extension, not voodoo magic. For example, the scene where the imprisoned earth benders fight back, six earth benders practically do a dance for 5 seconds to get a small rock to move. Speaking of the same scene, fire benders "imprison" earth benders next to a MOUNTAIN and on LAND. That's like putting an armory inside the prison cells.
Third, a TV show primarily set in Asian culture is littered with white people. No offense to white people, but WTF? Shyalamalan could've used this movie to break in some great Asian actors but instead goes the typical Hollywood route.
