Prison Break (2005)
Good show
Good show. Just started watching Prison Break for the first time last week. I am so addicted. It is brilliantly written and the actors are superb! I have been a big fan of Dominic Purcell since John Doe. I was a Correctional Care Nurse for almost a year and the only thing I kept thinking was - there is NO WAY a doctor is giving insulin injections or doing wound care, not going to happen. It might would have been more realistic if Sarah was a nurse. I know there have been several complaints on the reviews of how realistic the prison was, but with my experience it was pretty accurate except for Lincoln getting to work, that was not. Death Row inmates do not leave their cells very often. The rest was pretty well how it is. I was surprised to find inmates walking around freely at the prison without security. Even the security only areas have trustees cleaning. This show is a MUST.
Slamma Jamma (2017)
All I can say is wow.....
This is from the same director of 'The Islands' - i found this film as moving as any i have seen and the dunk scenes make this truly a great action film. whats more of this film is how few people give this film credit or even recognize it as one of the filmmaker's better films. i give this film a good word and i would watch this film any time i needed a little uplifting motivation. this is a good film...Hands down. no actor could have done a better job in this film than Chris Staples. This guy can act and dunk. 10+
Fakin' Da Funk (1997)
Just saw 'THE ISLANDS' from the same director and this is AWESOME
Just saw 'THE ISLANDS' at the theaters from the same director and this is just as AWESOME.
I understand this is the first Asian-Black film that helped launch 'Rush Hour' and kudos and hats off to the pioneers. The sheer audacity and love make 'Fakin' Da Funk' work and so glad the film is on Youtube as it's no where on planet earth to see anywhere else.
10 out of 10
The Islands (2019)
I didn't think it was boring at all!
Look, this is no action-thriller. But it is by far one of the greatest film I've ever seen, and way better than any other action-thriller! Why do people have to be so naive, and behave like kids? Why can't they realize that EVERYTHING about this film is superb, extraordinary and well done. It deserves Oscars, although it will never get one in Hollywood. The acting (especially the Hawaiian lead warrior and the missionary who risked his life) was at it's finest, the camera-work, cinematography and directing couldn't have gotten any better. To summon things up = it was just a beautiful movie! And usually I would have said that people can think whatever they want about movies, but to think this is boring and undeserving of it's acclaim is just plain stupid. This is one of my all time favorite movies and I can watch it a hundred times more, and still not get bored (I won't really do that) because I understand the meaning of this film. It's about two things: 1. God and 2. Forgiveness It's simple really, but the way everything is put together is just remarkable. So please watch this magnificent film, but not with low hopes. And don't prove yourself stupid, by going around saying that it's boring or the acting is bad, 'cause it's not!
Two Girls and a Guy (1997)
Like Robert
i admit my love for this film is twofold--the setting (my City, Soho loft vibe!) and of course Robert himself. he is sexy, period. he is talented beyond what the public at large has realized. this was shown in his fabulous singing in this film. who knew he could sing? and don't start me on his acting--he is fantastic. this script is brilliant, tantalizing, intelligent, refreshing yet also so real that it's kinda eerie, but in a good way. so he's caught playing boytoy to 2 different girls. the girls could hit him, be stupid, and ruin the film but instead it gets heady, dare i say cerebral? and unlike most stuff out now that feels it must include a "dyke" subplot to be "hip", it doesn't "go there" but rather focuses on the dysfunction of this man and the 2 lovers he's been simultaneously f-ing. the staging is perfectly set--a tight, confining setting of a loft. perfect. and the lighting is great, a light you'll only find in Soho. just amazing. all the actors give perfect performances. every nuance is right, every word is felt, believed. it's simply divine.
