Songbird (2020)
really strange and not ok, waste of time.
Don't understand how movies like this get green lighted, no story-line, awful writing, storytelling and a generally unlikable cast. No real stakes, no real character development, felt like a quick cashgrab, which failed miserably.
There were a lot of bad movies this year, but this one takes all of the cake...
Don't waste your time on this...
The Predator (2018)
kindly game end yourself if you consider watching this
What an utter waste of time, resources and money. Why was this movie ever made. It's an insult to our intelligence and our value of human live. Why do we even waste money on making stuff like this. It's an insult to the original franchise. Why did this ever get a green light?
Why does this exist? I truly want my money back, good thing I didn't pay for it. Someone else paid for my ticket, I want a refund for him and a refund of my own life and time I wasted.
Do not watch this if you are a true fan of the original, run away while you still can.
Berlin Syndrome (2017)
Pretentious and not worth it at all
Where do I begin, a bland story with no character development and a really really slow incredibly slow movie. How do people even get a budget for this. o realism whatsoever, stupid protagonist and an overall disaster of a movie. Cinematography was OK, but too pretentious for this kind of movie. A one star just because I couldn't leave a zero start rating. One of the worse movies I have ever wasted my time on. almost 2 hours and the best parts are in the beginning and 10 minutes before it all ends. Not recommended. what an utter shitfest of a movie
Knock Knock (2015)
Important surgeon general warning
*Spoiler alert* This movie was utter D*GSH*T. Please do not watch this movie... Save yourself the horror which is the actual movie... Also do not waste your unlimited bandwidth on downloading this movie for free as it is a real waste of precious time and bandwidth space which is better used downloading spongebob the movie... I'm utterly serious when I say; If feminism was a movie, this would be it. Also let me give you a sketch how bad the movie was, remember shamamalalayan movies, or Annabel or dumb and dumber 2, exactly my point you only remember their titles nothing of the f*cking retarded movie. Also Eli Roth on the of chance you are reading this, please stop making making movies and give the money you were supposed to spend on that movie to charity or message me so I can give you my banking details, OK m8.
Dark Circles (2013)
what's happening here
first of I need to tip my hat to the director of the movie, for wanting and actually putting that many styles into one movie. Not to mention having done that in a short period and a small budget I imagine.
But....here's my 2 cents on the movie, it starts of slow, first half hour is kind of dragging but then it's starts to pick up pace... parents of a newborn get insomniac, cause of a building site next to their newly found piece of paradise and a baby who deprives them from their well-deserved sleep...
I consider myself a movie-aficionado and horror has a special place in my heart, go check out my list if you are in doubt. Anyways, about the movie, first of I found the actors to play their parts very well, both husband and wife and the psycho/ghost or whatever she was...so there's that. But why even after all the madness of sleep deprivation would you go to a local supermarket and hire an unknown girl on the spot to babysit. Mind you this is your newborn baby ? Seems kind of far-fetched but hey, I can live with that...Then you wake up missing an entire day and your baby has been completely neglected, unchanged diaper and all that. Then why don't you go after the baby sitter or just plain go back to the place of her employment and ask about what the hell has happened ?
Still I can live with that, but then this women/ghost appears in your random pictures and your dreams/hallucinations and still you want to stay in that same house,..... And why the hell don't these people as a couple talk about the things happening to them, their dreams, their premonitions, their fears, like a healthy and young couple would do ? OK, and then we have a body in the house for a couple of days and no one even smells but a whiff a something decaying. The ghost/psycho disappears from under a bed like David Copperfield....? She also manages to enter a locked house enter a kitchen cabinet unseen to appear out of it and then disappear into thin air.... This woman ah....never mind. So many mistakes when it really had me going in the beginning, and then it seemed to me like the director changed his mind and went from supernatural/ghostly apparition to psycho/lunatic crazy woman...the build up was really slow and well executed and the end was a mere disappointment of plot holes...
It's worth a watch, but a 6.6 rating, no way
Only God Forgives (2013)
what to say
If you liked Drive, Bronson and Valhalla Rising....
don't expect anything like that of " Only God forgives ", what can you say about this movie. the script is kinda OK, the acting brought to the table by Kristin (Crystal) is the only thing that saved the movie, for me that is...It actually made me want to see it through till the end...
The movie was well shot as a static, artsy kinda thing...but overall to me it seemed like the movie was edited by an editor who didn't know his job...sadly. The pacing of the movie was not there...it was Slow...so slow...It's sad to say as I expected so much of this movie after having seen most of Refn movies, but alas...this one was disappointing to say the least. Ryan (Julian) had me with his fragility but somehow brought nothing but a weak and unlikeable character to the screen. And why did he cut his own mother after she got killed by Chang and put his hand inside her...???? Vithaya(Chang) was this still, moving but static, nearly mute character with a God complex, reaching for his ninja-like blade as if if by magic appearing from behind his back ??? He figured he could just kill and mutilate anyone to his pleasing as if he had the right to do so. I do understand things in Thailand go differently, but seriously....not like that.
Did I mention the movie was incredibly slow, like really slow. no matter how well shot the movie was the editing was done without heart. Especially in the back-end of the movie as if it had to be rushed of to a quick ending.... and the long and mute shots just felt forced and too wannabe art-house. The graphic nature of the violence was hard and realistic, too much if you ask me for this kind of movie.
the movie was well shot, bad edited and overall too slow, even thou it last only for an hour and a half. Kind of weird if you ask me. I've personally seen movies lasting over two hours and not making me want to leave the Theatre but this one seriously had me wanting to leave after only 30 min. in.
So to re-cap I'm very sorry to say I would not recommend you seeing this slow movie
