Really? People think this is an important movie?
16 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I'm sorry people, but this movie is nothing more than a vehicle for Kevin Costner and Octavia whatever her name is to do some "acting". There is nothing real about this film, everyone is a caricature. The white people, the black people. You never feel for a second that either grand parent loves the girl.(who is also a caricature and is the wisest, most well spoken 9 year old I've ever seen, did I mention adorable?) The court room scenes are so hokey it's almost laughable. The no nonsense black judge, that does nothing but put up with nonsense in her courtroom. The crack head son in law, I mean c'mon, it's like they don't even try anymore. It was truly an uninspiring time waster.

Good Movie- Nice Period Piece
8 March 2012
I liked this movie, it was a non-judgemental re-telling of a slice of history. I thought the performances were all very good by the leading characters. I have no idea what the real Marilyn was like and I don't think many people do, but Michelle Williams character is a more than plausible interpretation, vulnerable at times, manipulative at others, who really knows where the reality lies, but there was something for everyone's interpretation. The movie did a good job of depicting that moment in time and transporting the audience there for a couple of hours. I guess it is every man's fantasy to have this opportunity, so the story is a satisfying one for any man who has ever wondered what the real Marilyn may have been like.

Believe the reviews that say this movie is awful
5 March 2012
I'm not sure what is going on with the positive reviews/ratings on this site for this movie here. But this movie was so awful it prompted me to join the site to rebut those reviews.

Plain and simple this movie is a 'vehicle' for Liam Neeson. If your a person who is bothered by gigantic holes in the plot then you should hate this movie. (Skip this part of my review if you enjoy wasting 2 hours of your life.) The obvious ones include, Liam Neeson's character is an expert on everything, the ludicrous cliff jumping scene, the ridiculous river scene where somehow Neeson's character manages to dry out from instead of freeze to death from, then of course the big fight scene where I believe he is taping broken mini-bar bottles to his knuckles to fight the wolves. I thought that was perhaps the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a movie. Other than that it was great!
