Fat City, New Orleans (2011)
What a fun and well done film!
Boy did I have a good time watching this movie. Fat City seems like the perfect place to be during the 70's. As a movie buff I definitely have high standards when it comes to any movie about the past, since it has to seems real and accurate. Director Stephen Mouton did a great job at making a film that was not just fun, but I felt like I was there living it. I wasn't there living it up like these characters did during the 1970's because I wasn't born yet, but man I really wish I had. They all seemed to be doing it right. The acting was well done, and there were some very important scenes where you can tell the acting had to be good or it wouldn't have worked. I give this a 9 out of 10.
The Barista (2011)
I had to write a review.
Im a film junkie. I love movies that are different and Im definitely not the fan of hundred million dollar films that spend all their money on visual special effects and very little on character or script. With that being said I really liked this movie a ton cause you had funny main actors and I also liked the supporting characters too! They did a lot to keep the story enjoyable and unique too. I watched this with a group from work and we had a blast seeing all these crazy people and the main guy could be in so many more movies in this genre. I would totally want to see a part two for sure. And I usually think a part two is because of lack of new ideas, but this movie could be more! So thumbs up, and anyone who lives in Los Angeles or San Fransisco will relate a lot to it.
