Between Worlds (2018)
Why would someone drag Franka Potente into the Cage-bad movies universe ?
I'm a Franka Potente fan, I used to like Nicolas Cage movies, back in the nineties. This is awful. The movie, the script, the continuity of the characters, everything is messed up.
Dia de Muertos (2019)
Good movie with a so so script
I'm a Mexican national and watching a movie with my 4 year old was a really good idea for a Saturday afternoon.
However, there was an excess of words that tried to be funny and made it difficult to comprehend for my daughter.
I will recommend to see it and watch with young eyes and remember being a kid with all your family elder traditions, that's priceless.
Don't try to compare it with Coco, it's a different setting and less a Disney movie. It feels more authentic and original.
Definitely there were things that could be donde differently, but my understanding is that the movie took a really long time to be made because of funds and legal issues.
I will definitely buy this movie and have it for my children to watch It again.
Broken Vows (2014)
Only if a dark thriller with a bad ending script suits you..
I admire Wes Bentley from EVERY season he has been in American Horror Story. He's one of the best.
SPOILER ALERT
This thriller started right: boy mets girl, girl goes to bed, she regrets but he likes her, then he starts chasing her. That's expectable.
The movie has a good pace, bad sound effects and it seems to be like a b movie (lower caps) with no budget, acting from the main character is good, she is losing it and gets help from a cop with her BFF.
All good,
Then things go south, they go to a remote beach for honeymoon and suddenly there he goes, without any issues he gets to the private island, kills the one guy left at the hotel and then he gets killed at the sand.
At this point it started feeling like American Horror Story, Hotel.
Then, the movie ends with a poor script and it keeps questions unanswered, the husband is alive but in a the hospital bed.
The writers slowly started creating the story, and then they got anxious and ended the story badly.
If you are into dark comedies, or dark dramas, you may like it.
Brad's Status (2017)
Middle crisis on a very slow pace
So, Ben Stiller movies are leads awkward, heart break kid was insulting and night a the museum was an absolute joke, and not in a good way.
We see this guy mumbling, disconnected from everyone, his kid, his wife, his friends. Everyone.
Please. Save time, keep your money and avoid depression.
I get the sentiment of self assessment and comparing yourself with your friends and their milestones, I get the sentiment of feeling out of reach from friends and family that went separate ways, but the mental picture of having your own importance and self accomplishment based in how young is your girlfriend, how many do you have or how rich you are.
If this is the only measure of accomplishment: then this is going to be a very depressing movie for those that are not part of the 1%
Nine Dead (2009)
Horrible movie..
I was into a horror movie while i saw this movie.
The only interesting item is the curious set of characters as history and time line build up, but all of the acting and ending was terrible.
This was like a "Sabrina is having a nightmare after being a lawyer" spin off Save your self some time and do not waste time on this.
I thought it will get better over time, but the truth is that it doesn't and keeps very slow.
Ending makes no sense.
One very odd item is the beginning of the movie, it seems like a low budget horror movie with some odd timing to discover each character's history.
