I Know has just been dusted.
5 May 2004
I Know What You Did Last Summer, is a story about four teens that are drinking and speeding in a car on a windy mountain road. Not paying attention to the road they hit a pedestrian, whom they think they killed. Instead of going to the police and reporting the crime, they dump the body into the ocean in fear that if anybody finds out their lives will be ruined. One year goes by and Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is staying with her mom in her home town, while on break from college for the summer. She meets with her friends who were involved in the accident, and over the year they have grown farther apart. Although they all still have one thing in common, someone knows what they did last summer.

One of the biggest problems that I had with this movie, is that they introduce us to our main character's, and no sooner they hit a man and try to cover up the crime. I began to find myself thinking that as we're trying to learn about these character's, they drop the hit and run and still expect us to feel emotion for these teens. Another problem with I Know, is that you could watch only the first half an hour and still predict the outcome. You know which character's will live and which will die. I was disappointed in the unvailing of the killer, because it was the main suspect who we never really got to see earlier. I think that just made the whole story boring, and unoriginal.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is needless to say a fun slasher flick with the modern look of Scream to it, but not meant to be anything more then fun. Any fan of the genre should see this movie, but no hurry to the video store. I give this movie 6.5/10.

Scream (1996)
10/10
Tricky, clever, and just fun
4 May 2004
The reason that I find this film to be so clever, is that all of the characters are aware of the formula to slasher movies, yet they seem to be in one. The story involves a teenager named Sydney Presscott (Neve Campbell) who's mother was killed one year before the murder's start to happen again. No matter where Sydney seems to go, everyone around her begins to die. When the killer is revealed, you'll be shocked. Something you can't help but love about Scream is all of the quotes and references to older slasher movies. Scream can be just as funny as it is scary, and can be enjoyed by just about anybody. My only problem with Scream is the dragged out climax, but overall a real thrill. 10/10

Wild Things 2 (2004 Video)
Repeat?
21 April 2004
Wild Things 2 is basically the first one all over again, the only difference is that the script and acting is worthless. While trying to make a tricky plot to fool the audience, it fail's miserabely. The movie is predictable from the first opening sequence and the character's identically match one's from the first movie. There is no real character development, but what these girls lack in dialogue they gain in natural assets. The plot is confusing and doesn't make much sense, but that was not the point of the movie. The purpose of this movie is to see hot girls walk around in skimpy clothes, with criminal thoughts. Watch this film if you dare, but don't expect to much out of it other then one hot scene followed by complete boredom. 1.5 stars out of 5.
