The Lodge (2008)
This movie sucked a$$ all the way around!
This unbelievably bad little piece of $hit, flick pi$$ed me off even though I only paid a dollar to rent it. Trust me when I say, a dollar was too much. This film contained it all.................stupid script, crappy acting, lousy cinematography, and an asinine "surprise" ending that was more laughable than scary! The absolute only reason to watch this trash are Elizabeth Kell's amazing, incredibly beautiful breasts. Otherwise avoid this stinker at all costs. Not sure what normally passes for entertainment with some of these other reviewers, but my guess from their praises of this movie is that it must feature either Teletubbies, Smurfs and any creature repeated being bludgeoned with an over-sized mallet. Wake up guys (and gals). "Direct to DVD" should have been the tip-off (as it should have been for me). However I won't make the same mistake.
À l'intérieur (2007)
This is a joke, right?
This has got to be one of the most disappointing "horror" (forget horror, movies period) of any I have seen in recent years. I have long been a fan of the horror genre and to read one review quoted as saying "this is the scariest movie I have ever seen", had me reeling. What is delivered however is something quite different. We seen to think that foreign films released in American markets deserve some kind of special "dispensation" to give foreign filmmakers unbiased parity with American filmmakers. This practice is unethical and wholly unfair to the viewing audience. "Inside" looks like the project of a high school film study student whose only grasp at creating suspense equates to throwing more gore around. It appears that the director lucked upon a sale on cherry syrup at a local grocery store an seized the opportunity to exploit those savings in this very, very atrociously, ridiculously, ludicrous film. If this is your idea of horror, (if this is your idea of film-making), you need to get out of your basement more often.
This film deserves no better than the score given to "One missed call" which was a much more tightly constructed endeavor and only received an average of 2.9/10 stars. Don't waste your time on this stinker. You'll be mad at yourself all day.
