Running with the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee (2022)
Messy
Confusing and messy, another in a string of Netflix documentaries lately that does not seem to have a theme, could have been so much better but just felt like a middle school project.
Thirteen Lives (2022)
Unbelievable true story
Starts a little slow but man what an incredible story, pretty darn accurate portrayal, I recommend following it up with the National Geographic documentary afterwards, great casting.
House of Gucci (2021)
Gift card as a Xmas gift in the late 80s.... Come on
This entire story is fascinating In general, The movie however, big disappointment. So many gaffes, big time jumps, cutting out daughter number 2, but the biggest is the Bloomingdale's gift card given to Patricia as a Christmas gift in the late 80's. I had such a hard time getting past this. Blockbuster invented the gift card in 1994 and it wasn't a wide spread thing until many years later...... just ugh.. Ridley Scott needs to stick to his wheelhouse. Adam Driver was great, Gaga, ok.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Don't understand the negativity, appropriate "Ozark" ending
Shows like Ozark will never end and satisfy "everyone". I can understand why the frustration over Ruth getting killed in the end, but..... its not exactly like Ruth was too a "good" person... She was the least of all the evil (unless like me you think Marty was just trying to survive and was somewhat redeemable). That being said, She sold Heroin, killed multiple people in the 4 seasons, Was partially responsible for Ben's death... and many more things but there was an effort by writers to make her character the most likeable and not as despicable as the others. All that to say..... what did everyone expect? Cartels, scandals, murders etc.... every episode of Ozark was full of it, the ending was totally appropriate considering the show and the show was about the Byrds not Ruth, she was just part of the overall story. Was good to see the Byrds ultimately come back together in the end as a family, even if they are all terrible.... The ending allowed the viewer to choose the rest of the story in their head, enough for some closure, but also leaves some speculation and the door open.... Sad to see Ruth go out like that but appropriate for the spirit of the show overall.
I Want You Back (2022)
Solid Rom Com with extra dose of Com
It's impossible not to like something with Charlie Day, he 100% makes this a good movie In typical Charlie Day fashion, good chemistry between the actors. Good one for guys I thoroughly enjoyed it more than most Rom Coms.

Captivating
I rarely get to watch horror these days since my wife can't handle it but I decided to give this a go when flying solo and crammed it in over a long week... it was captivating to say the least, the sound and soundtrack in this is creepy.. it made the show for me, I do agree with some other reviewers that the last couple of episodes kind of fizzled the overall story but I still found it extremely entertaining for my first venture into horror in awhile, I don't get the acting comments I thought the acting was great.. the premise is "real feeling" until the last few episodes and it starts to slip but still great watch IMO.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
I don't get the hype..
I follow a lot of of movie sites/groups on Facebook and man we're there q Ron if stories and glorifying about this movie... i just don't get it.. it was just "ok" nothing great nothing terrible... I can appreciate I'm the Asian hero and the character but I just think it's crouching tiger hidden dragon shoved into the MCU, story just felt weird, I like others really disliked watching a 10 min ban commercial and don't like what they did with they did with Ben Kingsley character... but it was enjoyable enough I just thought I to was average at best.
Ted Lasso (2020)
One the most likeable characters ever
Literally impossible not to love the Ted Lasso character, one of the most likable in the history of TV, the mix of feel good combined with Fbombs from the cast and other story lines make this a great binge worthy show, we powered thru it home sick with Covid and enjoyed it throughout.
Maid (2021)
Loses momentum, frustrating to watch at times...
Starts off REALLY great and places a great spotlight on domestic abuse, however, the story quickly gets really frustrating to watch. Episode 6 was excruciating to watch and more frustrating than I can even explain. Super hard to see someone trying to get their life together only to watch them make really dumb decisions with the people in their life.... Still a very well acted show but a few characters will literally make you angry every time their on screen, I guess that reinforces the great acting...
Friends with Kids (2011)
What the hell is up with her face?!
2 min into watching this I asked my wife what the hell is wrong with the main characters face. It's expressionless and frozen... it literally made it impossible to watch it was that distracting... good cast ruined by a single actress who has gone off the deep end with the Botox and filler...
The White Lotus (2021)
Weirdly entertaining like watching a train wreck
Oddly entertaining, found myself wondering why I continued watching and then I remembered oh yea... Alexandria Dadarrio.... Damn... you will want to absolutely hate the teenage girls. Some of the most unloveable characters I have ever watched.. weirdly entertaining that's all I can say, and not what I would call a satisfying ending though..
Outer Banks (2020)
Scooby Doo meets the Goonies with sappy teenage love tossed in
Story is a stretch very often and first season was significantly better than first... if you can get past ridiculous plot holes at times it's entertaining but the second season was full of way more cheese than first.... We almost bailed after first few episodes of second season but it was entertaining enough to stick it out....
CODA (2021)
Great heartfelt story
Fantastic acting and interaction between the hearing actors and deaf actors, surprising moments of great laughs. The deaf cast steals the show in this movie, cannot imagine how difficult this would be in real life.
