The Opposite Sex (1956)
I like the movie...
I like this film. I have seen the original (The Women) and this remake and love them both. They both examine the same premise, but I like the inclusion of the male characters in this film.
I must say that I prefer Crawford's Crystal to Collins', and I absolutely adored Agnes Moorehead's Countess to Mary Boland's. However, Rosalind Russell, of Mame fame, was fabulous as the original (1939) Sylvia Fowler! Both movies are phenomenal in the own right.
I was afraid that the lack of male characters to which were often referred, would limit the movie. However, The Women, literally held their own. I almost didn't miss the guys!!
The Caroline Rhea Show (2002)
Disappointed
I really loved the Rosie O'Donnell show. She was (is) hilarious and was surprised when she left. I tried watching it as the Caroline Rhea Show, but found it dry, humorless, and stale. I was extremely disappointed in the show. Rhea just doesn't seem to have the personality for a talk show. She is not intriguing, and it always seemed the audience was asleep.
I, for one, tuned out after a few shows (thinking I would give it a chance). Rhea didn't seem to have the same candor as Rosie. I suppose I just prefer Rosie's persona. It just wasn't the same. Maybe a different premise may have saved it. This just wasn't Rhea's show.
