Watched this with my girlfriend and we had a blast. This movie is exciting to watch as the story unfolds. I don't think it will change your life on a philosophical level but that's not really the intent of this type of movies. Scared and some humor at times makes this great movie. We were caught by the jump scared that's obviously in a movie like this. There are also some nice background events if you look past the main characters. 'Stuff' is happening in the background as well. The story is deeper than you would give it credit for at start and it unfolds nicely. If you like horror then this movie will give you a good time.

It's a mystery why this movie only has a 5.5. This movie is a very well made horror experience! I've watched it in original Polish language and enabled subtitles in my own language. It enhances the experience rather than using a dubbed version.
Each scene is very well crafted and looks gorgeous, dark and creepy. The crew paid attention to every aspect of filmmaking here which is to be applauded! It's enhanced using excellent audio that creeps you out.
The story unfolds very nicely and at a good pace. You aren't spoonfed the story which enhances the entertainment level of the movie. Sometimes the lack off dialogue makes the viewer attaches their own meaning to what is being shown on screen or what something could mean.
I won't spoil any scene specifically so I will end by saying that this movie is a gem for horror fans! Well worth watching!

Great story driven horror movie with pinch of slashing

It's a very good story-unfolding thriller with slasher horror movie scenes in it but it isn't the core of the movie. This horror movie is something different and casual viewers can also enjoy but be warned it's has gore scenes in it.
The story unfolds nicely and it's well written. The movie touches on sensitive topics like growing old, past glory, dementia,... which creates extra freaky scenes at times, never seen before. Some scenes have tension and horror elements are unsettling at times but that's what horror movies should do.
This movie contains tributes to older films and pays homage at times.
Giving this a 9.

Enjoyable mysterious show with fantasy elements

This show was entertaining and kept me watching. The story and mystery unfolds rather well although some 'sister drama' parts in the later episodes were a bit too long for my taste. The Spanish village and scenery are beautiful. This show gives a good insight in cult tactics and how people in agony are easily convinced into occult things using brainwashing. Won't spoil anything so I will just leave you with it's an enjoyable mystery show with a touch of fantasy.

The movie is very good and enjoyable. Not sure why this has low ratings. Didn't see the trailer and just started watching without any context besides an island and 'strange things' happen. Maybe this is one of those movies that shouldn't have a but rather a teaser would suffice to not give anything away.
Life lessons can be learned here as well.

The first 5 episodes were perfect in every way, acting, writing, cinematography, tension (even some horror), religious concepts, audio, mystery,... it's very well done! Even the first scene, you know this is going to be something special. However this show should have ended at episode 5. It's like the show actually ended there BUT someone wanted 2 more episodes and they make zero sense. It's like the last 2 episodes were made for another story and created by a different team. Whenever characters do stupid things in shows, most of the time it's bad writing and last 2 episodes are full of that. These episodes are so out of place. What a waist of a good open ending at episode 5.
I gave this show a 10 after few episodes but because of the low quality of the last episodes I just can't.
But to reiterate, the first 5 episodes were awesome and on another level. Definitely worth watching.

Mind blowing story if you get it (David Lynch style)

Didn't know what to expect as I just watched a couple of seconds from the trailer and it caught my attention. Some reviews here reference Dark but it's totally different story telling.
The creators of this shown must have a degree in psychology and folklore as this is a mind blowing experience if you get it. This show isn't spoon feeding you the complete story and you, most likely, need to do a little bit of analysis before you realize what it all means when end credits roll. Try talking with a friend/partner about it and figure it out together. Even revisit some scenes can help. it's fun and you will not be disappointed.
Although some parts of the middle episodes drag along too long for its own good, it's worth watching all of it.
You will like this show if you like mysterie, suspense and unraveling a story David Lynch style. Standing ovation for the creators.

Awesome underrated movie

This was a very enjoyable movie although not for the tainted hearts. To my surprise it has a poor score on IMDB is beyond me. The characters a very well written and not in a Hollywood forced social justice worrier 'woke' way but just 2 amazingly well written female leads. It works... The tension is high, the gore scenes are very gore to the point that you get a feel what it's like to be a coroner. The storyline is well written and realistic that keeps you engaged for the duration of the movie. There are no 'filler' scenes but just very good scenes that always progresses the story. Always watch entertainment in the original language as then, as opposed to dubbed audio, you get a special extra authenticity and the lips match. I have read some low numbered reviews here to see why and they seem to nitpick a couple of things and exaggerate or fail to see this is a non Hollywood budget style movie. We enjoyed it and it's well worth the watch.

This was a surprisingly good show. Six episodes means no stretched out scenes or filler scenes. Every scene is intentional and progresses the story nicely. The story gets you hooked from the start and I wanted to see what happened next.
Was going to give it a 9 because I enjoyed it that much but because I'm from Belgium a 10.

I really liked watching this movie together with my girlfriend in the couch. Did not expect much but we had a great time. We got great scares (& accompanied laughing afterward) together with thrilling underwater scenes. Don't expect a movie that will have you questioning your life choices but rather expect an enjoyable survival movie and your are good to go and be entertained.
Expected this movie would be rated higher on IMDb as it deserves to be after such great scenes and the fun we had with it.

This movie is very good. It's slow & quiet at some points with epic music in the background and then other scenes have some next level action the likes you never seen before. The audio is amazing and emphasises the stillness, if that makes any sense... Sometimes there isn't any audio at all, which is pure genius!
Most dialogues (and monologues) are extremely well written.
Don't expect an action movie with caped superhero's. This movie is more of a drama with a bonus of never seen before scenes that can only be done in space. My girlfriend and I liked it a lot.

Good and bad at the same time

This show has some awesome scenes in it and then some very bad ones. Most notably the market fight scene in episode 1 is very good.
I would rather see only 4 episodes with that quality than 8 with filler scenes, political ideas injection and obvious low quality monsters.
The Witcher is very promising and hopefully builds on what makes it great:
- Geralt fighting awesome dark scary monsters
- Quality monster and monster backstories
- gritty one-liners (a plain hmmmmmmmmmmm from Geralt)
- awesome fantasy locations, castles and dungeons including backstory
- weapons and armor including magical ones and some backstory to them
- magic potions and then magic used during fighting as if it was normal (like fight scene at the market when these guys were pushed back at hand gesture)

Watched Joker in the cinema a couple of hours ago and am still processing it. It's not the movie you expect but rather way better than you would expect. You won't feel happy watching this movie as the story is about a struggling man. The acting and bizarre movement of Arthur is just perfect. This is a must watch as it will most likely make you feel the need to process what you just experienced.

Just home from a movie night out at the cinema. This is just a perfect movie that entertained us very much! Everything was just perfect. Sometimes funny, sometimes thriller, little horror even, sometimes western, sometimes police,... They got a lot of movie genres wrapped in different scenes throughout the movie as I take that as an ode to the movie business all together. Most likely this movie is filled with references that I didn't even see or know. Everything is just so well done in each scene. What a perfect movie.

My girlfriend and I had a great time watching this movie. Disregarded the low scores here and gave it a shot where we didn't expect much...this movie turned out to be actually fun to watch. We laughed a couple of times and screamed a couple of times. Some talented people worked on this.

I liked this movie and can't wrap my head around why it only gets a low average review score here. It's sequel so it's best to watch the first one before this one to know more about the overall story.
The Darkest Dawn has a realistic atmosphere with one exciting scene after another and at any point anything could happen and it actually does so in a realistic in-your-face-shocking-way. Don't expect a life changing intellectual breakthrough watching this movie but expect entertainment and exciting action sequences that no big budget movie at this time can capture in a good realistic way. Think the insane chopper takedown scene in Overlord (2018) at the start of that movie.

I wasn't expecting much from a B movie and watched it because of the awesome storm in the trailer. I had a good time watching this movie as it was better than I expected and more entertaining that most big budget horror movies. Story unfolds nicely as well.

There are some insanely good scenes in here, especially the first parts of the film. Not going to spoil it but I actually thought this is really well done and was not expecting that from a horror movie. Only after watching the film I saw the involvement of JJ Abrams and knew why these scenes were so good. Being a horror - nazi - experiments - ... don't expect a life changing story but just a fun no-brains-required well done horror/action movie.

Seems nobody likes The Last Jedi however still high scores in professional media. I liked it in theatre with moving chairs though. However treating one of the most iconic heroes of all time like that takes as special kind of amateurism towards filmmaking and the whole franchise. After seeing some reviews about the last Jedi on YouTube I agree that the story is realy bad and does not make sense it is that bad with so much budget. The level of political correctness is also unnecessary here, please skip it. Villains have the hair of the cartoon drawing of the royal horse of a prince (euh... princess nowadays) that is being shampooed and brushed daily while on the other hand the guy is the most terrifying dark mass murdering sadistic person in the universe. The people in charge of this franchise are just lacking the skills to create an awesome Star Wars movie. I can follow the logic that however pays the bills get to create what they want however so many amateur moves in play here that we can all agree on that this is going to go down in the text books as to how to ruin an amazing franchise. At least they make money selling the toys.
