A new kind of super heroes movies (sorry for English mistakes)
13 May 2014
As a well known director one says, to make a great movie, you have to (as a director) believe your movie is the best ever made. In today's blockbuster standards, we do not see that at all. What I see when I watch a Marvel/Disney movie (just for the example), I feel as a spectator that directors want to make an entertainment movie, with an absolutely needs of huge action and explosion scenes, with a crescendo structure ending with a KABOOM (what an illustration^^). That's great, that make good blockbusters – but not great. I had high expectations with this movie, and yet I am not an X-Men fan and Bryan singer disappointed me a lot of times - but the trailer gave me chills and as French, I really wanted to see Omar Sy in a super-production (stupid but true).

Anyway, after seeing it, with 2500 X-Men fan in Paris, I was divided. In fact, I expected something else entirely. There is some plot holes, monotonous parts… However, after thought a lot about it, I have to say that is a masterpiece in super heroes' movies. Why? Because it is very different from what we see today, we are not waiting for a finale with explosions, characters just keep moving so the finale do not overdo it but is still very impressive visually. Plus, this movie is very human paradoxically: it speaks about usual mutants themes, but the very point of the movie is can we change, whether it be the past or our vision of the present. The intelligence of the movie is not to focus on changing the past but on writing the present.

But the most important thing that makes this movie great is that Bryan Singer loves this franchise and more than making a great blockbuster, he wanted to make a great movie relying on the characters. He was convinced of making the best movie ever and even if it is not the case, I felt it, so despite all is defaults, X-MEN DAYS OF THE FUTURE PAST is a great movie, maybe, one of the best super-hero movies ever made.

I advise you to stay till the end of the credits, the scene is just awesome.

One of the best animated movie in comedy ever! (Sorry for English mistakes)

Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw the trailer I was thinking this was a joke. Actually I really looked forward to this movie which remembered me the time when I played with these amazing yellow toys (not so far by the way). I came to the theater with some friends (about 15^^) and then hop…100 minutes of pure laugh. I have to say the writers/directors did an amazing job. I will begin with the screenplay which is so brilliant: I expected gags, some cult lines, and of course there were plenty of those things and more. This is hard to believe but the society in which our hero Emmet lives is a kind of Orwell's 1984 place or even like in The Matrix's world. A society in which we told people to be happy and they become averages nobody, this is the world of Lord Business (alias the incredible Will Ferrell). So at the beginning of the movie, I guessed this was not a movie destined firstly to children, plus there is a great deal of references to movies of "older" audiences. But in fact the movie praises imagination and particularly children imagination. There is a conflict between the two sides of what legos are made for: you can follow the instruction and make "realistic" stuff (for example a Millennium Falcon) or you can build in your own way, build things that cannot exist, except in your mind ; and the directors succeeded in pointed this out and the movie follows these two sides. The example is, for me, the song "Everything is Awesome" because, at the beginning of the movie, the song is seen as a part of the brainwashing of Lord Business's society but in the end, when it accompanies the credits, we understand that what is awesome is that you can do whatever you want with these little bricks. Then, visually, this movie is astonishing. Explosions, fires, the ocean, everything is made with Lego and it is very cool. I think this movie deserves a second vision, only in the purpose of seeing more background details because it's going too fast when there are battles (if I had to point out a default, it would that). The directing is incredible in so many point because it was really not obvious too give life to these bricks and they did a great job (especially when "Master Builders" create cars with what they found). In conclusion, I strongly recommend this movie, even if you have 50. This movie is great for children, adults, and film-lover. Well, it is a "masterbrick".

The movie which revolutionized the way we make movies in this beginning of century (sorry for English mistakes)
18 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
It's hard to find a weak point in this masterpiece (let's say Maggie Gyllenhaal :D). What I find astonishing in this movie is that for 150 minutes long movie, there is no time out and at least ten climaxes. Of course this movie is extraordinary thanks to Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker who gives us a brilliant vision of chaos but the movie is amazing too because it reaches its goal: be an entertainment, thanks to THE director and writer Christopher Nolan who bet a lot an technologies like Imax or real action scene (the hospital destruction scene). I think there is nothing else to say, even to advice people to watch this movie because if you have not seen this movie yet, you know you have to watch it. My favorite movie personally.

One of the best movie ever. (sorry for English mistakes)
18 February 2014
I saw The Shawshank Redemption only a few weeks ago, while I knew it was number 1 on IMDb Top 250. Knowing the main idea of the movie, I couldn't imagine how this movie can be at the top. I watched it on TV and this was one of those rare films which excited me so much in front of my TV. I will not talk about the acting or the directing because so many reviewers did a better review about that before me but I will just add that what I find so unique to this movie is that he is RIGHT from the beginning to the end. You feel so moved all along the movie and when the movie is over I have this impression that it was a movie quiet "simple" shared with a feeling of having saw something that is a way higher others movies. And that is what make this movie extraordinary.
