The Odd Couple (1968)
One of Neil Simon's finest
Neil Simon writes one of his funniest screenplays and while the plot lacks true character arcs (Felix sudden change by the end of the film doesn't achieve anything; on the other hand Oscar has a more substantial turn of character, but still shy) it hits some high notes. The first Poker scene is absolutely hilarious with a remarkable "gang" of actors and a simple but effective camera direction.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)
...
In my opinion this film had a great beginning and a brilliant end (referring to all the aspects music, action, ...) though the middle of the film could have been a lot better but it doesn't get you bored. I also think that the worse thing about this film was the editing, there were some parts were you could not follow the story because we did not know if we are in the pass our in the present. Gary Oldman's performance was very good as well as John Hurt's, Colin Firth's and Benedict Cumberbatch's. The soundtrack was a huge surprise, given it's great quality. The clothing was perfect. I also think that it's lack of action is filled by those great memories in which we learn more about the pass of our characters.
