I found reading the Wikipedia article of Dunkirk evacuation to be more rewarding than watching this movie. I get the point: this movie is supposed to be distressing, but shouldn't the anxiety come from the emotions of the characters, not from bad film making? Now that the plotline could have been presented in five minutes and there are no characters in this movie, what are we supposed to watch here?

I decided to watch this movie to familiarize myself with one of the greatest stories in western culture. After some 90 minutes I have to ask, what did I just watch? This was morally so disturbing that it made me feel sick. Listening "There can be miracles/When You Believe" didn't feel quite right after seeing God killing city full of Egyptian families and children just cause their race. There were plenty of scenes where I found it easier to identify myself with the antagonist, which is always a good sign...
Painful waste of time

Yet another movie in which adults are portrayed as restless dummies and children rule the earth. "The comedy" is mostly forced stumble and farts. The child actors speak flawless literary language which couldn't more freakish.
It's rather difficult to find any essential theme in this chaos apart from superimposed "being a good person" -theme at the end -the presentation of which is superficial and clumsy. The Dadaism in this movie doesn't serve any purpose, it's just a cheap excuse for the lack of contents.
To put this critical review in contexts, I don't hate all the family movies: I partially enjoyed the "Viileä Venla" part of this franchise and love many of the modern family movies - this was too much of nothing for me and my family.
