Good as TVMA movies go
16 December 2016
This is an erotic B-movie made to fit within the TVMA Rating. The plot has a female lawyer try to prove her lover is innocent of killing his wife. As usual with TVMA, the plot gives way to stretches of erotica that will fit within the Rating, and the characters are played by former porn stars who now work in films that just simulate sex.

Although the scenes seem at times to be disjointed from the story line, this is overall good example of TVMA Rated fare. I was happy with the effort put into scene transition attempting to reduce the disjointed scene transitions typical of these movies, and with the size of the cast that allowed for more plot development than typical.

Dixie (1976)

A message film?
20 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
When asked how old she is, Dixie answers "fourteen." Both of them prostitutes, her twin older sisters seem to believe Dixie to be fifteen, and are convinced that they had less experience between the both of them at that age.

When Dixie moved from the home of one twin older sister to the other, she had been bribed with cloths and spending money to "stay out and play" when the first sister was entertaining "Uncles." The second sister began doing the same thing whenever an "Uncle" came to call, but this time Dixie made friends at the local Park with Cookie, who began showing her how to earn money directly by being "smarter" than the men who came to the park to watch children play.

By the time Dixie's sisters discover what Cookie's been teaching, Dixie's already showing these "Uncles" just how smart she's become - not giving anything away for free! The storyline is exceptional for this genre, with the characterization by Dixie and Cookie well contrasted without being stilted. While Dixie naively enjoys her development, Cookie play to her Johns with moans and groans, and plays the "naive little girl" so that they know it's just part of her act. The older sisters and other characters provide the setting for the presumed universal story of young girls raised without clear supervision - a theme more prevalent in mainstream cinema.

Sequel to a remake of a 1950 film
9 February 2007
I rate this film as about average for the genre at the time of production, although its major failures are from its adherence to the premise of the 1950 Stewart Granger version of King Solomon's Mines. King Solomon's Mines is a 20th Century modernization of the H. Rider Haggard novels set in the 19th Century. As a VERY LOW BUDGET African project, the two movies maintain the consistency of an imaginary Africa that may have seemed reasonable to a 19th Century English audience.

I especially enjoyed some of the quips that reference a not so hidden casting of Hollywood camp in serious roles. Elvira is cast as Sorais, and Richard Chamberlain as Allan Quatermain declares on meeting her, "I've seen some amazing things in my life, but never anything to compare with this!" The films are full of the cliché scenes that filled Tarzan and earlier jungle films, clichés that have since become attached to the Indiana Jones films by those unfamiliar with the earlier genre. Some of the earlier jungle films were produced under extraordinary duress, and attempts here to produce tongue in cheek replicas of the earlier works can certainly be missed by those whose only familiarity with film is through the post 70s media.

The Standard of its type
4 February 2007
This was more professionally filmed that any other such film. Houstan, a Long Beach native who grew up in Norway, is the focus of the event. But the fluffers are an interlude that breaks up the monotony, as do interviews with men awaiting their turn. The goal was 500 men, although there was no requirement for penetration... it was gentleman's choice.

Houston called it a day at 620 ejaculations, and there have since been events topping her number, but this remains the gold standard for these "documentaries."

Ron Jeremy is Master of Ceremonies, and coordinates the interviews and commentary.

This is a Documentary - not a Horror Flick
19 January 2007
I enjoy the kind of horror "romp" that has been coming out of Seduction Cinema in recent years. I also enjoy the "scxreamers" with Michelle Bauer." That's not what we have here... this is not even Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers!

I lived in California while we all wondered about the disappearance of two women from a National Park, and whether or if they'd ever be found. After months they were, but they might not have been found... and here's what might have happened to them AND DID IN FACT HAPPEN TO OTHERS! For reviewers to comment that they would "grab the gun" from the crazy is to ignore the fact that this is basically a true story. The gun wasn't grabbed from him!

It's not just in horror stories that horror exists, but in the world around us. The message is that we should take precautions, that perhaps we should learn HOW to grab a gun without having it go off in someone else's face (NOT just us big bruiser Veterans!) This is a message NOT to coddle our children, making them easy victims! As the saying goes, "There are a lot of places to bury a body in the desert."

A riveting performance by Christy Canyon
6 January 2007
This essentially ignored feature is my personal favorite of Christy Canyon. Perhaps it's the director, or the role, but Christy is spellbinding as a mental patient whose condition drags those around her into her tormented world. Christy is sometimes stilted in her acting, but this is certainly her best work since Passions, since her inner turmoil is allowed free reign - not her physical attributes.

The dialog is above par for this genre, developing sympathy for the characters that is all too difficult when sexual congress is the focus. Even when the viewer is presented with physical acts, they remain concerned by the characters' internal conflicts.
