Mixed·ish (2019)
Reviewer is incorrect
First of all, being a young mixed teenager in the 80s like Rainbow, I can totally identify many of the issues that she had. Perhaps this is why I like this show so much already. However, this review isn't about the show (I will post that at a different time). This is about the inaccuracies of one of your reviewers. I won't put the name, because that is rude.
The reviewer stated that Rainbow's mom is white and her dad is black on the show, and that is 100% incorrect. How's mother is played by Anna Deavere Smith, a black woman (she is much lighter in black-ish, but she is most definitely a black woman. And Bow's father is played by Beau Bridges, a white man, so I'm not quite sure where the reviewer got that information. So it's just a small thing, but it could confuse new viewers. Thanks for letting me post this.
Basketball Wives: Episode #3.2 (2011)
Susie is pathetic...
I know that she's been off the snow for several years, but Susie was so pathetic! She was so desperate to be up Evelyn's behind, that she'd do anything, even sell out Royce (the only person who was cool with her while everyone else turned on her). Jennifer is just a brain dead moron who would do whatever her lord and master Evelyn says...all of these old ass women behaving like they are in high school, no...middle school! So now that Evelyn has "allowed" stupid ass Susie back in "The Circle", she will sit there and laugh while they tear Royce down to nothing. The only two real women on this show were Royce and Tami (even though Tami had a short and violent temper) at least you knew where you stood with her. The rest of these catty, phony women will smile in your face, while they are stabbing you in the back. It's all so ugly!!
Basketball Wives LA: Episode #3.1 (2014)
Jackie, Jackie, Jackie...
I swear, I have a love-hate relationship with Jackie Christie. I just don't understand why she has to make every single thing about her. Sundy is talking about her daughter?? Jackie has to turn it back to her...Brandi tearfully shares that she had ovarian cancer?? Jackie has to turn it back to her. Anytime someone has an event or a party, Jackie has some kind of issue, and she'll cry and cause chaos. I just don't get it.
House M.D.: Cursed (2005)
Seriously?
My teenaged son loves watching House, and now it is a show that we watch together. It's often an enjoyable show, even though it seems like the same basic story over and over again: person comes in with random illness. House doesn't want to get involved...then something strange happens which interests House...his people go through several different diagnoses, and treatments...House refuses to see patient and has his team treat the patient...one of the doctors cares "too much" and wants to get personally involved...House dispatches his team to patient's home to check for clues...treatment almost kills patient, and then at the last minute, something clicks in House's brilliant mind, and he solves the "case" af the last minute!! House saves the day again!!
What bothers me, is that sometimes, the fifteen letter medical terms they use sometimes are so, so incorrect. Today, when I heard them trying to diagnose the kid with neurofibromatosis, I just couldn't believe it!! I actually have neurofibromatosis (NF) it's not an acute disease that just comes out of nowhere. It is a genetic disorder where tumors can grow anywhere where there nerve endings. They can be internal, or external. It can be mild, or very, very severe. The "lesion" (actually tumors, or neurofibromas) wouldn't just show up within minutes and start making someone sick. It was hilarious that they would even think of coming up with a diagnosis like that. There have been a few other times when the same thing happened with another case.
It's an interesting and fun show, and I realize it's over now. I just wish that they would have done a bit more research before they just started throwing out these medical diagnoses.
Criminal Minds: Limelight (2008)
This episode was good, but...
I get that they were trying to make the character of Jill to be agent Rossi when he was a younger, but she just came across as egotistical and arrogant. The fact that she manufactured evidence, made it even worse. I realize that her "gut" was correct, but agents just can't go snipping chunks of their own hair, just to have other agents take the case. My eyes almost got stuck because I rolled them so many times, at her uncaring and cavalier attitude. She seemed like she was nothing more than an opportunistic camera hog. It made me even more annoyed when it seemed like she cared more about the publicity than the victims. That was even more evident during the final scenes. She clearly just cares about how high she can climb.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Alta Kockers (2018)
Wow...
This has got to be one of the most powerful SVU episodes I've seen in a very long time. While both brothers were telling their stories to Liv and Amanda, I realized that I was holding my breath! I swear, I couldn't breathe. They both deserved Emmys for their parts. They grew up in such a different time, things like that weren't talked about, especially when the victim is a boy. Hell, boys being victims STILL aren't taken as seriously as girl victims. Seeing both Wallace Shawn and Judd Hirsch playing these roles absolutely captivated me. I'm so used to laughing when I see or hear these guys. This episode is definitely one that I'm keeping on my DVR.
13 Reasons Why: Tape 7, Side A (2017)
Second time around...
First off, I'm a mother who is close to the ages of some of the parents in this series. I made the decision to watch this with both of my teens, because I wanted to make sure that this wasn't inappropriate for them. (Fun fact, my nephew was almost cast as one of the extras). This was a painful show to watch. The sexual assaults were so real, they were actually triggering me. High School has always been crappy for most kids. Unless you're super pretty, popular, or a jock,a cheerleader, etc. school can be really really bad. You don't realize until you're an adult that high school is four years of hell, that you go through and never have to look back. I don't even go to my reunions. I have no desire to see some of these people. I am lucky that social media wasn't around when I was going to school, because that just magnifies the torture. I decided to watch it a second time, and I had read that they took the suicide scene out, and while I can totally understand why Netflix decided to do it, it also waters down the whole series. That scene was graphic and very difficult to get through, especially since my mother attempted suicide this was when I was ten years old. I still remember everything. Watching that scene was raw, and painful, and showed the nasty side of suicide in a way that I had never seen before. In all of my years watching tv, I had never seen such a graphic portrayal. Ultimately it is still a very good show, maybe it can make some people think twice about how they treat others...adults and teens alike.
Stranger Things: Chapter One: Suzie, Do You Copy? (2019)
I loved the episode but...
I'm sorry, I'm a die hard Stranger Things fan. I'm Around Winona Ryder's age, which means that I'd be exactly the ages of the kids in '83/'84. I get that we all had our little boyfriends and girlfriends at that age, but there was NO WAY we would be able to have a boy in our room with the door even semi closed. None of my friends could either. And locking the door was absolutely no allowed. My mom once warned me that if I locked the door again, I wouldn't have a door. She was a single mother with no tools to speak of, but she would have used a high heel as a hammer and a butter knife as a screwdriver, and she would have gotten that dang door off. The way Mike spoke to Hopper was crazy! No kid I knew would EVER talk to a grownup like that! It's not like the kids are nowadays. The way he cursed at Hopper and called him a "lying piece of shyt" would have never happened in the 80s. Back then, any adult you knew could snatch you up and shake you. Anyway, I liked the rest of the episode, but I just couldn't get with that, because it wasn't realistic to me.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer (2017)
Seriously guys??
Come on man, that was the worst death on this show...no, probably one of the worst deaths on tv! Sean Astin's character Bob Newby was always a little different. Kinda weird and nerdy. He clearly wasn't a fighter, but come on, everyone has a fight or flight instinct. He was literally running away from one of those faceless monsters. He saw the damage and destruction that they can do to a body, and after he runs away, and shuts a lightweight door behind him, does he keep running the five or six feet to the gate that would have kept him safe?? Noooo. He stands there looking like an idiot. I would have rather seen him getting dragged out of the closet by his ankles, or even caught right before he reached the first door, but to get taken out because you're just standing there is so stupid. R.I.P Bob Newby...you deserved better...
A Fatherless America (2019)
Don't listen to the haters and trolls
This was an incredible documentary! Even if you are not a fan of documentaries, please give this one a chance. You will not be disappointed. It was informative, raw, and painful; and those are just a few of the words I can use to describe it. This was needed not just in the African American community, but in all communities. The statistics for children who grow up without a father were not only shocking, but heartbreaking. The young lady who had her little girl on her lap had me in tears. It was brutal honesty, and full of emotion. The other interviews were also very, very good. As emotional as the film was, Tommy was able to interject some humor when it was needed too.
Please, do not give any of those 1 Star reviews any thought. These fake reviews are from people who quickly made an account, just to post a negative review. I can almost guarantee that there are no other reviews from these people. The are just making fake names of friends, family, and loyal fans. All of those 1 Star reviews are fake. They are from hateful trolls who are trying to bring this great film down. They most likely haven't even watched it, which is why not one person who gave 1 star reviews can say one thing about what was IN the documentary. These people are liars. Who disagree with his platform, so they just want to cause trouble.
I have watched this now three times, and every time I cried. This affected me on a very, very personal level. If this film does anything, I hope it shows people how important fathers are in their children' lives, and to perhaps think twice before becoming parents, until they can fully be in their children's lives.

This Is Us: Kamsahamnida (2018)
Randall, seriously??
Why, why, why, why, why would Randall go to Sol Brown's office and show his hand so early in the "game"? He JUST got a young campaign manager from Koreatown. He should have just not said anything, and let Sol find out later. Clearly this guy is going to be an unfair "fighter", like so many politicians are. Randall needs to get to know the people of Koreatown, and get them to trust him (something that is going to be difficult considering his an outsider) it's going to help now that he has Jae-won, but he still shouldn't be going to Sol's, especially this early.
This Is Us: This Big, Amazing, Beautiful Life (2018)
I'm not understanding the hate...
This was a really good episode in my opinion. Sure, it really didn't have any of the "main characters", but clearly Deja is going to be a character who will be in their lives at least for a while. Maybe some people were uncomfortable with the show showcasing the foster care system, and the problems in it. Well sorry, but this is a fact of life for millions of Dejas. Deja's mother wasn't abusing her, it just was a string of bad luck, and poor timing.
She was only 16 when she had her. The grandmother did most of the child rearing, and then she died. Shauna did the best she could with a limited education, experience, and especially income. Had Deja not cut her hand that day, social services probably would have never taken her. I'm not saying that Shauna was the perfect mother at all, but Deja having to go from foster home to foster home was worse than living with her mother. This episode showed up the story of Deja, and a look inside of her to see what makes her who she is.
Don't worry folks...I'm sure all of the regular cast will be there next week.
Superstore: Employee Appreciation Day (2019)
The human side...
While I have very "liberal" views on immigration, even people who don't can see this, and understand how DACA is so important. Mateo was just a child when he came to the US, and didn't even realize that he was undocumented (the story for many immigrants who came here as kids/babies). He was a model employee, and the only reason any of this came about was because of scare tactics that corporate was doing to prevent them from unionizing. It's EXACTLY the sneaky and underhanded tactics some "major retailers" do to prevent their employees from trying to be in a union. Heads up, because unions are being busted all over the country. Unions are being weakened all over the country.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Surrendering Noah (2015)
Episodes like these hurt my heart
I love my country, and I totally understand that we are all presumed innocent until a jury of our peer hears compelling enough evidence to render a guilty verdict. I understand that these laws were written, because of past terrible treatment of people who were arrested and tried over and over again. What I can't understand for the life of me, is how lawyers can know that they are defending the most despicable sub humans, who do these terrible crimes. If you are a lawyer, who truly believes in your client's innocence, then by all means, defend them with everything you got. Every single time I saw that weaselly, smarmy lawyer on the tv, I almost threw something at my screen. He made my skin crawl! How could someone want a POS like Johnny D to raise a sweet innocent child? How could that lawyer excuse every terrible thing he did? What hurts the most, is that this goes on, every day all over the country...heck the world. I understand why Olivia wanted to be honest, and not build the adoption on a lie, but I agreed with Barba she should not have said ANYTHING! This episode literally gave me nightmares. I'm glad it ended the way it did. There is a special place in hell for people like Johnny D...oh and his lawyer too!!
Modern Family: A Moving Day (2019)
Pam has got to go...
I'm sorry, but Pam is an awful addition to the cast. She isn't funny at all, and bring nothing but negativity to the cast. Lately, when she's in a scene, I leave to get something from the kitchen or anything else just so I don't have to see or hear her. I just wish she'd go away!
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
Why didn't Dany...
I don't understand what Dany was thinking. As soon as Rhegal was shot, why didn't she retreat, and fly back around so they were behind Euron's fleet, and just "Dracarys" the hell out of him and his ships? This just doesn't make sense. I'm getting more and more disappointed with these episodes. I really hope the last two episodes don't disappoint and make us feel like we've wasted the last eight years of our lives. That happened with Lost, and I'd HATE to have it happen again.
Doctor Who: A Good Man Goes to War (2011)
I'm sorry, I just can't stand the 11th Doctor!
I've tried, and tried, and tried again to like Matt Smith, but I just can't. He's so smug and self congratulatory! Even the "good" episode that he is in, still tend to rate lower to me than some of the "bad" episodes with either the 9th or 10th Doctors. I don't even really know when I realized it was Matt Smith that I didn't like. My 16 year old son noticed that I started looking at my phone a lot when the new season with him came on. I just wanted each episode to be over. I'm very sorry to anyone who is a fan of MS, but I just want him to hurry and regenerate already!! Until then, I guess I'll just keep playing candy Crush or something!
The Office: Casual Friday (2009)
Back together again!
I never thought I'd say it, but it was great to have Michael back as boss at Dunder-Miflin, he played that negotiation perfectly. It just goes to show that when he needs to, he can act like a normal person. I'm also glad that he demanded that Pam be a salesperson. Ryan I'm so-so about, but he's acting a little more humble now, so that's ok. What really made me upset was how they were treating Pam (especially calling her a "receptionist" like it was something lower than them). They shouldn't have gotten their clients back, because they lost them fair and square. It's as simple as that. I don't think Michael, Pam, or even Ryan owed any of them a dang thing, and they certainly didn't owe them "their" clients back. The way they were speaking to Pam just made me so mad! The "casual Friday" was pretty funny though. Meredith is a hot mess!! Oh, I also felt bad for Kevin. I've had something like that happen to me before, except it was an entire pork roast that I dropped when I was trying to take it out of the oven! I can laugh about it now, but I was almost in tears when it happened.
The Office: Dwight K. Schrute, (Acting) Manager (2011)
Jim is an idiot!
Dwight is the absolute worst person who could have been chosen to run the office (even if it's just temporary). I don't know if it's just laziness on Jim's part, or just complete apathy for his job. With all of the terrible things that Dwight has said and done to everyone in the office, I can't believe that Jim doesn't at least care enough about his team members to take on the acting manager job for just a little bit.
The Office: Garage Sale (2011)
I can't believe I just cried...
Wow. Where do I start. I was a very latecomer to Tge Office, and didn't even really want to watch it when it was on. It wasn't that I disliked anything about it, it's just that I had a lot of other shows that I was watching at the time, and then just kinda forgot about it. Well I have binge watched all of the episodes up until now within the last two months, and I'm feeling like I'm a part of Dunder-Mifflin. I'm so happy that Michael has found someone who is just as goofy as he is. Michael Dcott has got to be one of the most interesting characters on tv. He can be such a jacka**, but also has a charm that keeps you rooting for him. One minute you are shaking your head at something he does or says, and another minute you feel bad when he loses (again and again). Jam was about the most abusive person ever, and I'm so happy he's not with her. While Melora Hardin was incredible, Jan Levinson-Gould was the worst. So while I'm so very happy that Michael and Holly are having their "happily ever after" (I never understood the "hate" for Holly) I'm heartbroken that they are both leaving. The relationship I'm going to miss the most was the one Michael has with Pam. She took care of him and had to protect him from himself so many times. They were a great team. Her stopping him from his original proposal was exactly what I'm going to miss the most. (The proposal they came up with was perfect) Oh, the Dwight/Jim storyline was hilarious...and so was Jim putting the plants there so that Dwight believed in the "magic legumes" was just a perfect ending. This is most definitely my favorite episode!

The Office: Dunder Mifflin Infinity (2007)
Toby...
I used to feel bad for Toby, because of how horribly Michael always treats him, but after seeing what a jealous little twerp he is, I don't feel bad anymore. When he sent out that memo reminding everyone about PDA and saying that there were "complaints" about Jim and Pam, (even though nobody knew about them dating) was just so sneaky. He's like that one creepy guy at everyone's work who just lurks around being resentful because nobody wants to date him. Plus, he "outed" Jim and Pam, even though they hadn't told anyone about their relationship. He is supposed to be professional, but he just comes across as some bitter person who can't get a date.
The Office: The Negotiation (2007)
Pam
I can't stand Pam right now. She knew EXACTLY how Roy would react when she told him about Jim. Right now, she is "in her feelings" and resentful of Jim because he's not her lost little puppy anymore. He told he how he felt, and she turned him down. What was he supposed to do, keep on pining for a woman who told him that she was marrying someone else? Now she sees that Jim is dating an attractive woman, and she's jealous. It's a dang shame.
The Office: Traveling Salesmen (2007)
I can't stand Andy
I just can't get into the Andy character. He is a supreme jackass. He brings down the entire flow of the show, and I find myself trying to pass up any scene that he is in. Dwight may have been annoying, but it was in a funny way. Andy is just terrible. I was hoping that when they closed the Stamford branch, he was not going to be shown anymore. I just don't like him.
