I am writing this review not only to tell people how I feel about "Wicker Park", but to also defend it. But I'll get to my last bit later. I MUST warn you, this next paragraph contains spoilers:
Wicker Park is about a man named Matthew (Josh Harnett) who is in love with this dancer name Lisa (Diane Kruger). After a while of stalking her, she finally gives him a chance. There both boyfriend and girlfriend until one day, Lisa all the sudden, just disappears. It's been two years later and something happens (it's too long to explain) and he feels he has found her again. Just when he feels he is getting closer, he meets another who claims to be the "Lisa who lives at the apartment". Later on you find out not only was she lying, but she is an actress name Alex (Rose Byrne) who is going out with Matthew's best friend Luke (Matthew Lillard)
Personally, I really like this film. I saw it at a Drive In and boy was I glad to see it. I really thought it was fascinating that one man is obsessed with a woman, while another woman is obsessed with him altogether. What really tick me off are the people on here dissing the film because it was a "remake". So what? Just because Wicker Park is a remake from a foreign film, doesn't mean Hollywood CAN'T pull it off. Some people refuse to see it!!!!! Some people don't even know what there talking about. The worse part to me is the original hasn't even come out in America in 9 years!!!!! Come on guys, are we hated that much? I see it as this: When the original comes out in America and/or I get to see it, maybe I can make a determination, but until that day comes, Wicker Park is one HELL of a film!
My grade for this film is as it was when I first saw it:
10/10
Bottom Line: This Park Is Worth Taking A Stroll.
