Evil Dead Rise (2023)
Meh...
The trailers made it look like this was gonna be good...
Well... it wasn't very...
SPOILER ALERT
There was no character development and a story....
-I'm a guitar tech, oops I'm pregnant.. guess I'm gonna go see my sister.. here she is. Here are her kids. Oh no they need a new place to live ... They get pizza, oh no, an earthquake... now everyone is possessed....
Not sure if I zoned out on an explanation.. but the Apartment building used to be a bank. But yet contained the book/records... why the heck would they store something dangerous in an old bank?
How did nobody else in the building hear the gunshots and screaming? I get that the elevator wasn't working.. but come on
They went for shock gore and no story... disappointing.
Also, why couldn't you show me the cat was ok. Is the cat ok?
The Crooked Man (2016)
Crooked Man? More like overly tall man.
Good lord.
First off.... the age progression was terrible.. from 12 to 18... yet they are obviously much older than that... it seemed more like a 10-15 year age progression.
Second- They wanted some kind of romance so they threw in Noah.. the chemistry was terrible. He wasn't there for it, you could tell...awkward af.....
Third- The Crooked Man. Yikes. Not scary yikes.. but I what were they thinking kind of yikes. Why was he glitchy sometimes but other times not? When I hear crooked man with a crooked spine, I kind of expect to see a crooked looking man with a crooked spine... not an overly tall man with long fingers.
I love watching cheesy movies, but this one was not only cheesy but just badly done....
Candyman (2021)
Not completely terrible
I liked the premise of the movie..
How it connected to the OG Candyman.
At first from the movie trailers, I thought they changed the entire story, so I have been hesitant to watch...
I just felt the ending was so forced. They could have done better with that. After Anthony talked with his mom it seems like they just threw everything together. They could have done better.
They definitely could have slowed down the progression from artist to Candyman.. it all just felt rushed. Or Williams part in it.. needed some more from that..
I just felt I needed more of something the whole movie.
But overall, it was decent enough... Better than the 3rd Candyman forsure..... that was a train wreck.
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
A zero rating wasn't an option..
Quite possibly the worst movie i have ever seen...
And man have i seen some bad ones...
The acting is the worst... my cats could have made a more convincing movie. The bearded guy kept looking like he was reading cue cards..
The Creeper looks stupid.
The effects were terrible.
The redneck/hick jokes were overdone..
And you are seriously telling me that nobody tried to bust through any of the crappy boarded up windows? Throw a chair? Like worst people trying to survive...
Wish I would have looked at the reviews before I turned it on..
I can't get that hour and twenty eight minutes of my life back.
Smile (2022)
Way over hyped
It was very predictable if you have ever watched any horror movies before.
This movie 100% banked on the jumpscares... and there were lots.
The storyline just needed a little more .... something.
I was really hoping it wasn't going to end exactly line I guessed it would after the "ex" was introduced.
The "smilers" could have had a better presence,
This had some potential to be a better movie, but the plot was "It Follows".
The acting was great, her decline from well respected Dr to losing her mind was believable..
Dont read ahead- spoiler:
The second mr. Mustache got introduced, I knew something bad was gonna happen. .. what did the adorable ball of fluff do to deserve that? The poor nephew. Speaking if, I was hoping for something more from him.. the way he was looking out the window seemed like maybe he saw something more than his Aunt having a breakdown..
In all, I was entertained, but not blown away.
The Umbrella Academy: Meet the Family (2022)
Oof. Really?
What the heck is going on?
I was so excited for this season, and it's like nobody knows what's going on.. even the writers.
I only gave it a 5 because I still love Klaus and 5.
Allison is annoying as heck, Luther turned into a big dummy, Vanya/Viktor seems so forced.. (to be fair, I never liked them in the role right from season one). Diego is barely tolerable...
Little Giants (1994)
Love
This is one of my favorite childhood movies.
Now its one of my children's favorite movies too.
They quote it constantly.
The Boy Behind the Door (2020)
Meh
Ok. First off, the kids acting was great.. its what got the 5 stars.
The storyline however.. it felt so forced and scrambled...
This had potential to be such a great movie..
American Horror Stories (2021)
Good lord.. wtf
I love AHS.. saw this series on Disney+, thought I'd give it a go...
The 1st 2 episodes were ok.. the 3rd had potential to be better... then the 4th episode. What even was that? Like seriously .. that was the most terrible thing ever.
Do I dare continue?
Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
Over hyped
The acting in this "movie" is the worst.
The animal torture is completely unnecessary. The turtle scene almost made me throw up. The human deaths were pretty tame. I was expecting so much more from this..
I found the movie pretty boring overall..
When They See Us: Part Four (2019)
Wow.
The acting in this show is incredible. The actor who plays Korey has such emotion. All the kids were fantastic in their roles, but Korey really got to me..
My heart hurts for these boys...
13 Reasons Why (2017)
Hmmmmm...
The character of Ani seemed super forced. I did enjoy the 3rd season overall, but didnt like her part in the show.
Usually I am so good at guessing endings to stuff, but this one stumped me..
Cam (2018)
Acting=great.. storyline= lacking
Madeline Brewer is a fantastic actress.. I just felt something was missing.. it was ok.. was left wanting more.
Circle (2015)
Really Good
I watched this bc I was bored. Anx I wasnt disappointed. Kept me super interested anx a but on the edge of my seat..
Seeing who was gonna go next was interesting. I was glad myself to see some people go.
Would definitely recommend. Its one of those not known about movies that should be more known.
The Gifted (2017)
Eh...
Loved the first season, but the 2nd lost me and couldn't keep me interested anymore.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
Hmmm.
I don't even know what to say... this was too much all over the place.. they had so much to work with but fell flat on it all.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Not scary
I heard from so many people that this show was so scary... far from it..
It was emotional. The last episode seemed like they had to quickly throw something together and left me needing more.
Bird Box (2018)
Had potential
There was too many holes in this movie to make it outstanding for me..
The acting was great but the storyline was just missing something for me.
