Climax (2018)
A Rollercoster movie!
Well, where do I begin?
I was fortunate to watch this movie in Mumbai Film Festival. The movie is a rollercoster. It keeps you intrigued till the end of the movie. While you're in middle of the movie, you just wonder what's gonna happen next. Gasper does an amazing job by keeping quaint tension throughout the movie and after learning that the movie was shot in a very short span, it just soars your magnitude of love for Gasper. Well there was not one person leaving the theatre throughout the movie which we generally encounter in Film Festivals and given that this is Gasper's movie which is definitely not for faint hearted. I'd not spoil this movie be narrating what happens, I'd highly recommend to experience this movie in person. :)
Desde Allá (2015)
Unpredictable| Discontented| Keep it afar|
Unfortunately, I decided to watch this movie in the bout of Mumbai Film Festival at the cost of the other far more appealing movies. 'From afar' asserts the eminent maxim: Appearances are deceiving. This movie is an utter waste of time with no particular message and keeps you discontented and gives one the reason to believe that something is wrong with the movie. The movie starts with the lead actor i.e. Armando stalking vulnerable guys Willy-nilly with an intention to bring them home and fulfill his desire of watching the naked back of men from strict distance. By the way, he's not gay; No! He just has a peculiar knack of pleasure by doing that. Eventually he meets the other lead actor, Elder who also happens to be a violent guy in street gang. Armando despite having violent encounters with Elder and non accomplishment of the penultimate motive with which Elder had been invited and paid; continues to pursue Elder. At some point Armando looks after Elder when he learns that Elder has been injured by some street fights which causes Elder to be intimate with Armando. Throughout the movie, Armando is shown to stalk an old guy intermittently with no specific reason. Elder, then as a gesture of payback kills the old man having a notion that its the only thing Armando wants. The movie is just meant to keep it afar from the audience!
Angry Indian Goddesses (2015)
Stupendous| Mix of humor & thrill| Indian women setting free|
Well, I was fortunate enough to watch this movie in Mumbai Film Festival which I believe was the first screening in India. The movie portrays the dichotomy as to how the people in India have preconceived notions about women in general and the 21st century women setting itself free from such prevalent credence. The movie begins with friends getting together after a long time for the reason initially unknown and later revealed as woman's bachelors party before Freida gets married. The friends later learn some astounding facts which makes the movie more exhilarating while raising some paramount questions against the prevailing system in India. The movie revolves around the chronicles of each character's personal life and how they forget their individual despairs and banalities while they hang out in Goa. The second half of the movie takes an unanticipated change which takes the recourse of begrudge and retribution. The movie is juxtaposition of humor; Thrill; Resentment among Indian women against the conventional system; Vindication; Courage; Love and Friendship!
House of Cards (2013)
In love with Kevin Spacey after watching House of Cards
For all those fans out there of Kevin Spacey, this is definitely not to be missed series in his role as Frank Underwood. The way of approaching the audience; the shrewdness; the covert political strategies; the ploys; the character; the plot; cruel intentions; Promises never meant to be fulfilled; the attitude; and the one which intrigues me the most is the dialogue delivery. The script is amazing and it revolves around the political happenings and events in the White House. The ultimate journey of Frank Underwood of rising up in the political ladder from the ordinary Congressman to the person having the highest office of the State. Frank Underwood's wife equally vicious and cruel, helping her husband to do the bad things is again an treat to watch. Having said that, one can infer that one cannot just watch one episode of House of Cards!!
Suits (2011)
Smart Dialogues and catchy phrases
Well, I have been watching Suits since a long time and at times I even watch some of the episodes again! Its great to watch Harvey Specter delivering the catchy phrases and the chemistry with Mike Ross is just soothing to all our senses. Its about the chronicles in a law firm with some ups and downs juxtaposed with thrills. Some of the ideas to some extent are unrealistic but I guess as far it entertains you that really doesn't matter! I bet you will be a big fan of Harvey Specter and his catchy phrases once you get into watching the successive episodes of Suits. Individuals specifically associated with the law stuff will find it more exciting. Though in general its a great series to follow.
