Sharper (2023)
There hasn't been a thriller this good since forever!
For an avid Thriller fan and being cautious having wasted hours watching a number of them on Netflix I was very sceptic when I saw this on Apple TV home screen. A 24 being the producing studio gave me a sense of relief though.
It started slow but boy was I for a thrilling exhilarating 2 hour edge of seat entertainment! The film is divided like a novel by chapters. Each chapter represents a main character without revealing their whole history or intentions.
Believe me when I say, just when you think this movie is done and you found out all the clues, it just doesn't end there and there' still more in store!
Special mention to the OST with carefully chosen songs that will make the dream of movie soundtrack enthusiasts.
8/10.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
My all time favorite TV show
I have never bothered to write any reviews before for the countless TV shows that I watch, but after finishing this masterpiece minutes ago, I knew I had to write one for it.
You absolutely cannot miss this series even if you don't like horror, for this TV show is much more than just to list under a genre, it is a tragic story that gives you goosebumps but also a psychological thriller that will have you on your nerves all the time.
I started watching yesterday before going to bed, but after the second episode I couldn't remember the time passing until the first beams of morning light.
Prepare for scares that will make you jump out of bed, get ready for some heartbreaking scenes that will have warm tears flying off your eyes like confetti, but most importantly, sit tight and enjoy the ride...home.
Femme écrite (2011)
Great inspirational movie
This movie is about an often forgotten part of our history, which is the traditional tattoo that Moroccan women used to do.
There was a buzz over the movie over here in Morocco since it included some nude scenes and therefore people couldn't go watch it for stereotypical reasons.
I for myself decided to go and watch it and I was amazed by our rich history of folkloric dancing, traditional weddings, and most of all tattoos which are used as history books only the book is the body.
Great work by the Moroccan Director Lahsen Zeynoun who used this movie as a reflection to his struggle with Moroccan society since he is a dancer.
