The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
awesome!
this is by far, the best of the trilogy. all i can say about this film really is. that i want to learn how to surf a shield, down stone stairs, whilst firing arrows from my bow and then decapitating an orc with the same said shield. oh, and the gollum/smeagol argument is probably the best 15 minutes of celluloid ever printed. BEYOND AWESOME!
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
what a disappointment shelob was....
this would be the best if 1, it's ending wasn't so slow and 2, shelob's lair was very badly represented. although the battle at the gates of mordor, was awesome. roll on the special edition dvd. maybe shelob's better represented there :)
Once Upon a Time in America (1984)
to all that criticise this movie.....
to all that criticise this movie, do you know what your on about? this is by far the best movie ever made. not just of the gangster genre, but of all the genre's. the acting is superb. the direction is awesome, but coming from leone what did you expect. the feel of the movie just pulls you into the screen and makes you live in all 3 era's the movie covers. and to round it off. it has an morricone score. what more could you ask for in a movie. the only film that comes close to this one, is another leone classic, The good, The bad, and The ugly.
Captain Apache (1971)
mushrooms, a campfire, and lee van cleef vocals. awesome!
this western is so bad that it sends it into the realms of an awesome cult classic. the best scene is when lee van cleef gets captured by the bad guys. he's held in a cave, where bizarrely he ends up doing magic mushrooms and beats the bad guys up, around a campfire, to psychedelic imagery. it also has lee van cleef singing the main vocal track for the theme tune. this alone makes it intriguing viewing for any movie fan.
C'era una volta il West (1968)
a great movie but.........
to all that say this this is the best western ever made. UH! have none of you seen the good, the bad, and the ugly? it blows this film off the planet. wake up and clean the sleep from your eyes folks. and to the person who didn't understand why the female lead slept with her husband's killer, how else was she mean't to stay alive?
