Till Death (2021)
Good movie
Actually quite a good movie. There were a few undeniable plot holes - other reviewers explained them before - but apart from that it was really nice. Time flew by very first. There were no unnecessary lengths in this movie. / Megan was like always very beautiful - it's nice to watch her acting. / the movie was entertaining. And I must confess I found myself bored from many films these days. / by the way, I don't think it has to be rated 18. There was some blood, violence and a dead body, but I have seen lot more worse than this in other movies that were recommended for a 16 years old audience.
Riverdale (2017)
I REALLY miss ...
Speaking for many people in the Riverdale Fandom, I really have to say that I miss the couple Kevin/Joaquin! Their not existing lovestory in the 1st season - waste of the century! A serpent and the Sheriffs son! Hello, producers! Wake up! Man, that could have been gigantic! A drama beautiful and tragic like Romeo & Juliet! That would have been so much more exiting than varchie or betthead. Uff! I still hope for them even if I know there is nothing until now (6 seasons). The rest of the series or me is semi interesting. Perhaps because my head still can't let go the idea of Kev & Jo and my disappointment about the fact that there is nothing more. At least I hope none of them dies, so that I can keeps my hopes as long as the show is running. Fingers are crossed. Like u know, hope dies last.
Imawa no Kuni no Arisu: Episode 8 (2022)
Sadly, no aces.
I liked the series, even if it has its lengths (endless dialogues and dialogues). After the S2 ending I don't really need a third season, because I am a bit disappointed. In my opinion, the makers missed a fantastic chance. I was hoping for a 3rd season - the ace games! In fact the ace is the highest card in almost every card game. Why didn't they use this fact? After the picture cards in stage 2 they could have moved on to stage 3 with the ace games. Unfortunately they won't. As I noticed later the aces were already crossed out on the beach card board. So definitely no ace games in the future. Maybe joker games? Perhaps. Time will tell.
Stranger Things: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club (2022)
Felt just wrong
I binge watched season 1-3 and was sad that there is just one season left for now but man, it already felt like a goodbye. Not just that we've lost Billy just in the second he turned interesting. Was it necessary for Joyce to move to f* California and rip apart all of them? That feels so wrong.
Besides that I don't like to have so many different plot lines. The constant switching got worse than in s3. I liked the rural idyll of Hawkins. Now they got dumb blonde cheerleaders and stupid lame quarterbacks. Come on REALLY? This series don't need these boring cliches. It got popular before it has tried to be cool.
Perhaps they will find their way back to the good old ways of Stranger Things but I will not bet on it.
The Black Phone (2021)
Could have been a 10/10, but...
I was really excited to see this film. Now I have to say: It was good and could easily have been a 10/10. But unfortunately it disappointed on many levels.
Pro:
+ The actor who played Fin was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful face, beautiful acting. Right choice!
+ Personally, it wouldn't have never occurred to me to choose Ethan Hawke for the role of the grabber and that's probably why it was a stroke of genius
+ Setting. Mood. Visual effects also beautiful!
Con: (SPOILER HERE)
- A single 43-minute episode of Criminal Minds has more psychological depth than this entire film
- The gabber: unfortunately he remained colorless, even if he had the potential to be an icon like Riddler f. E. ! Who exactly was he? How did he get like this? What was his problem with the naughty boys? Did he used to be one himself and his father beat him up and mentally broke him because of it? Or did the bad guys used to bully him at school? What was his trauma? Why doesn't he show his face? I thought it was disfigured at first, but obviously it wasn't. Why the devil mask? What was his intention? Why was he so obsessed with the black phone? What even was his name? Answers like this HAVE TO BE in a film like that. This is what makes characters come alive. He f. E. could have told Fin his story. But he told us nothing. So sad.
- Also, this movie offered 1 million chances for plot twists. I waited the whole time for it. It would have been awesome, for example, if Finn had been dead in the end and had only escaped from the basement as a ghost and had appeared to his sister like the other boys. Or if he had only imagined it all, and in truth his father had held him captive. Finn could also have been the younger version of the grabber reliving what happened to him, so to speak, in flashback. There were so many chances to make it more exciting! Unfortunately, the opportunity was completely missed.
As a viewer, you definitely leave the theater quite unsatisfied.
Castle Rock: Romans (2018)
Disappointing- sad but true
I like complicated stories. I like sad endings. I like open endings and giving the viewer/reader the chance to fantasize. BUT I can't deny, I found it very disappointing seeing Nic in the cage again. 10h for that? Really? This is like having s*e*x without ever coming- After a while it gets frustrating. That's not the recipe of a good story. You have to give the Audience something. JUST something. Not everything - okay. But something. That could be an explanation. A clue. A good hint. The AHA-moment. Don't wait for that. They will not give u anything for your patience.
IMDb says Nic will be up for 2 more episodes. I will watch them and pray for some solution in his case - without much hope. But after that I am out.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
A lesson in attentiveness
The movie is nice BUT the message behind it is huge. Maybe it is because I can feel Diana. I have lost the love of my life too and I am alone since then. What is the sense of that? What do we wish for? And what is the price we would pay for getting it? What would a world look like if everyone get what they wish for? Nice to think about.
The story has its lacks sadly. This guy just could have wish for alle the power of the world instead of creating such a big mess. But okay, that's the dilemma of most of these kind of magic, I think.
Btw, Gal is gorgeous as ever. I like her a lot as Wonder Woman. She is fresh and atypical.
The Batman: Deleted Arkham Scene (2022)
Nice little scene
The movie is sooooo long. And they could have cut out so many other scenes. Why this one? The scene is deep. And it tells the audience one important thing about Ed that all the Batmans never understand: that Eddie loves Batman. Even if it is in his own crazy way. He loves him. He adores him. He loves to play with him. He is absolutely obsessed with him. Batman is his most precious toy and that's why he would never kill him. The jokers knows that and he told Bats in this scene. Love it.
Swamp Thing (2019)
Proper series.
Swamp Thing is good entertainment. After all the zombies and pandemics, it's just something a bit new. Story Development is fast and there are a few nice surprises. Visionary dark and beautiful. Reminds me a bit of Siren. And I have to say: Kevin Durand is just gorgeous! Before ST I only knew him from THE STRAIN and there he had been so different! Great acting.
Siren: The Toll of the Sea (2020)
Okay this was mean!
(SPOILER, PLEASE DO NOT READ IF U HAVENT WATCH THE LAST EPISODE)
So, we watched 3 seasons only to wonder what happened to ben? Where t.f. Is he? Ryn rules the seas and can't find him? Seriously, he can't be that far! Girl, send some mer people out, to look for him. Come on, seriously? If he would have died, ok! If they got their happy ending, cool. If Ben has transformed into a mer man, nice! But this? There were so many better ways to end this as ... this ending. Sorry, but for me that's just frustrating.
Countdown (2019)
This would have made ...
... a really good SUPERNATURAL episode! I don't know why but for me it had a lot of SPN vibes. The movie is light good entertaining and nice for a lazy evening on the couch.
Contagion (2011)
Wow
I didn't knew the production year of the movie. Just watched it and thought the whole time it was a new film. I mean from 2020 or I don't know. After Covid came up. It is so accurate! ... Then I realized it was produced in any years bevor the global covid breakout! WTF! How is this even possible?
Fear the Walking Dead: The Beacon (2021)
30 minutes of baby crying
I am unsure. There are a lot plot holes. If we ignore the flaws the new apocalyptic world with its yellow dust and toxic fog makes a good scenery. I also appreciate that they are trying to give us something new.
But sensitive ears like mine have to mute half of the episode because of the annoying baby crying for minutes. Gosh!
Ok and what I am sorry for most of all: it seems like they have forgotten what FTWD first was meant for: it should have give us explanations that aren't in TWD! Where did the virus came from? How did it came into being? What exactly is it? Why aren't animals affected? There are still soooo many questions!
I am still waiting for a character I can really love. John almost had made it into my heart but in the next second he died.
PLEASE bring back Michael Greyeyes as Qualetaqa Walker and give him a leading role. He had so much potential! I miss him. He was strong. A good soul. A survivor. A friend. A hero. And he had nuts. PLEASE!
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Winter Chill (2021)
Lame Ep but nice ending
The weekly case is boring. But the last 3 minutes explain why the Ep has such a high rating.
