Registered Nurse working to become a Nurse Practitioner by the cutoff date of 2015 so I only need a Master's and not a Doctorate (saving money here). Have a deep love for HIV patients and will work to specialize in psychosocial management of the effects of the disease. Otherwise I'm a mom, a Wiccan, a Liberal (US style), a lover of music, art, literary, and cinematic works. I'm grown year old that has lived the life of a 40 year old and may someday put that to either visuals or on paper. Right now I'm enjoying being off of school until fall 2011. I am currently asking myself why I am here at this site at all and I've decided to figure out if giving my two cents on movies is worth it, politics has me tired emotionally right now. Oh yeah and if the name doesn't imply it, I'm a lifelong cheesehead dedicated to the Pack.

Girls Are Capable Too!

This movie captures the age old dilemma of societal gender conformity. The movie's main character has a talent that is usually seen as masculine, her school has a team that would showcase that talent except for one thing, she's a girl. The story shows what would probably happen in a school in the United States in the mid-90's, possibly even today, if a young lady chose to go off the beaten path of crocheting and baby-making. It's a movie made for tweens/teens, with a feel good message for girls. Adults probably would find it irritating as they already lived through it in high school themselves. It has a Disney quality that brings some cheese but not nearly as cheesy, just flavored let's say. You also can't get this movie on DVD apparently.
