The Entitled (2011)

Wow!
6 September 2011
Wow! This movie is going to do well. I kept waiting for the typical Hollywood formula but it never happened. I went into it with mixed expectations, first I figured it would be another low budget piece of crap with an interesting premise, and second I figured it could be an excellently executed production and script because Ray Liotta never backs a movie that he doesn't fully believe in, and I have learned to trust his judgement.

My second expectation proved to be correct. This movie really is a glimmer of light in a sea of formulaic garbage. Everything was accomplished with the perfectionism I have come to expect from a Ray Liotta project. It is both timely and extremely plausible with the originality you would expect from a Hollywood that disappeared seventy years ago.

If you are a true fan of cinema like me I highly recommend this movie.

Fright Night (2011)
Frightening Product Placement
25 August 2011
It could have been a decent movie but the extent of product placement was the real horror show and it totally took away from the experience. After about the fourth ignorantly over the top ad you were wondering when they started putting commercials in the middle of movies.

It was sickening, it was as blatantly obvious a Waynes World but Waynes World did it as a joke, in Fright Night they weren't joking.

You may as well have had Collin Farrel holding up a fresh made 'Subway Sandwich' and washing it down with an 'Ice Cold Pepsi Cola'. Why not have a quick stop into Mc Donalds during the car chase scene so that one of the stars can look into the camera and say 'I'm Lovin It'.

Without the product placement Fright Night would have been a 7.5 - with the extensive over the top ridiculously disgustingly blatant and obvious product placement I would give it a 3.

You might as well wait until they show this one on network television some day because your not going to have any less commercials going to the theater.

Oh Wait. He's a Good Taliban...
3 March 2011
Here we go again, this time it's the poor misunderstood Taliban guy. He doesn't want to kill innocent people, he has to, he's really just another victim... Please give me a break. Don't wast your time unless you like sitting through boredom for two hours, or was it eight, I forget because it was so boring.

The camera work was shoddy at best, not surprising when you consider the direction. The lead actors were mediocre and the supporting actors were, well, lets just say they probably knew somebody. Did you think there might be action, or maybe a coherent story - HA - Got You! None of that either.

I would suggest the who cast and crew consider doing a puppet show for their next paid gig, that is if somebody actually paid for this crap.
