Just fun and hilarious
Not every revival has to be the exact same as the original. Seems like everyone just wants it to be the same as the one before. This show has everything it needs for a great game show. It's hilarious, the guests are amazing and so funny, it keeps me on the edge of my sofa, rooting for people! I find myself screaming at the TV and that is not a situation I would usually find myself in.
Kekes personality is what everyone needs in their life, absolute blessing to the world she is. Jimmy is and will always be my fave Jimmy, and host, and general human. I love this show, people need to just appreciate what we have now and move forward, Jimmy isnt trying to be Betty White so can people just move on from that? I can not wait for more seasons, so make sure there are more please!
Black Widow (2021)
One of the best from MCU
I absolutely loved this film, had me sat at the edge of my seat from the very start.
To watch a female led film without any sexualisation of the characters, actual humour, no men coming to save the day and no unnecessary romantic relationships is something I have been waiting for and here it is!
After Endgames inexplicably poor attempt at female empowerment, with their "all women together" fight scene, which to me just came across as pandering, I was slightly apprehensive that there would be similar moments in this film. I was pleasantly surprised to see that no moments like that existed and they just made a film about a Marvel Character and not a film about a woman Marvel Character.
Scarlett Johansson yet again shows why she was made for this character and just outdoes herself, she literally makes me emotional! Florence Pugh is exceptional, again, as she is in everything she does. The pair of them together was just perfect chemistry. Then to top it off, it's literally a film about people who have no superpowers, they are just amazing fighters but their bravery matches any superhero!
The two female movies we've had so far have been a woman who's a literal god and a woman who has powers that no one else can really compete with, now here we have a woman who has no powers but acts like she does, there was moments where I wanted to cry because I was finally witnessing the film I've always wanted to see.
Absolutely smashed it out the park! The action is crazy good! There's a really good plot and you feel like you're finally getting to really understand Natasha as a person! As its not focused on the fact that it's a bunch of women fighting its enjoyable for everyone and even my highly critical partner liked it! I'm just glad that there's finally a Black Widow film as I'm going to miss that character so much, one of my ultimate faves!
X: First Class (2011)
X-Men - First Class is seriously First Class
After watching the first X-Men franchise and being very disappointed with the turn out of the trilogy and Origin: Wolverine, I was happy to hear that they were making a prequel but re-booting it.
The 'bromance' between Xavier and Magneto is believable whilst giving it some humour. To think that certain things didn't add up between this film and the X-Men trilogy is simply ridiculous. They decided to go their own way with it and not follow the previous (unsuccessful) franchise. Following the original comics more and introducing new characters.
The supporting cast is stellar, my favourite would be Banshee for his bravery and comical timing. Jennifer Lawrence does a terrific effort at playing Mystique when she was more fragile. You totally understand why she ends up siding with Magneto because of him telling her that she is beautiful without having to hide who she really is, especially with her age and her emotions that she is dealing with. Nicholas Hault is fantastic at the role of Beast, more so when he is in human form and you get the more gentle *nerdy* side of him which is the only thing I really liked in the previous films that Kelsey Grammar pulled off.
You sympathise with Magneto and his struggles after losing his mother, so when he behaves badly you end up forgiving him somehow and Xavier always knew there was a darker side to Magneto so wasn't to shocked to know that he would go his own way. At the end of the movie when they go their separate ways you understand why and that there isn't a war between Xavier and Magneto, they just have a different opinion on how they should live their lives.
I thought I would be setting myself up for a serious comic film about the end of a friendship but I found myself chuckling along to the dialogue which I was surprised to be happy about. You feel the pain for the characters (even the supporting cast) and you get excited with them for the high points.
The effects were Awesome! The costumes and sets were stunning which just enhanced the film even more.
Really hoping that they completely re-boot the series because there's a lot of fantastic young actors out there who are capable of making X-Men what it really is meant to be. As proved by the young cast in this one.
Top Marks! Congrats to Vaughan for making a compelling visual feast without forgetting the characters, the characters backgrounds or the plot (most films that have heavy action sequences tend to make things very difficult to follow).
Just watched and I'm ready to watch it again, and also I'm quite critical about films so this must be a corker of a film!!
