The Elegant Universe (2003)
Quite interesting
This program was quite interesting. The way the program was displayed made it all the more interesting. String Theory is also very interesting to listen too. The whole three hours in my opinion were well worth it. I enjoyed listening to the ideas given by the physicists. Extra dimensions really boggle the mind. If you have the chance, watch this amazing documentary.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Revolutions is good, but disappoints you
I have seen The Matrix, Reloaded, Animatrix, and beat Enter the Matrix. I think the Matrix is great. I was sincerely looking forward to Revolutions. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie until the final fifteen minutes.
SPOILER I was terribly disappointed with the "happy ending." The war just ended between the machines and Zion and Smith was obliterated. I was convinced that there was not going to be a "happy ending." I thought there was going to be a strange twist at the end, maybe there was going to be several matrixes before the real matrix. The ending doesn't even explain some questions you want to know. I wanted to know why Neo could stop sentinels in the real world and whay he could see a "fire matrix" when he was blind.
The ending was a great disappointment. For how much was put into the films before Revolutions, you would think the ending would be something different than a typical "happy ending" with a few deaths thrown in. It is a good movie, but has a disappointing ending.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
This movie is Action-Packed
T3 is an awesome film. The story may not be as in depth as the first two, (I suppose because James Cameron had nothing to do with it) but has enough Action to keep you entertained. The beginning has a brief rehash of the first two but then starts right into the story. The Action begins minutes after it starts and keeps going. Once the scene is over, they may talk for a couple minutes and then BAM, right back to the action. this movie must have cost a fortune just making a couple of the scenes. I strongly recommend this to any Terminator fan and to all other action moviegoers, even if you haven't even seen the first two.
10/10 - Action Packed
Evil Dead II (1987)
Different yet the same as the other two films. A good movie.
Evil Dead II is a smooth transition from the horror of the first film to the comedy of the third. There is plenty of blood and gore like the first film, yet it is presented in a funny way. His severed hand, the way it talks, is like the humor in AoD. The deadites are still eerie but start becoming more like cartoon demons. The first Evil Dead had rather spooky deadites compared to the other two, but the comedy makes Evil Dead II and AoD good movies. Also, In my opinion, this is somewhat of a remake. The original 4 friends are not even shown in the beginning rehash of the first. The original Evil Dead should be a different movie and have EDII be a new movie. It makes more sense because of the humor aspect of EDII and AoD.
Along with the story. Ash is stuck in a cabin in the woods and had just killed his possessed girlfriend. He starts to go insane it seems, trying to get away from the Evil. At the same time, a woman whose parents lived in the cabin, along with her boyfriend and two local rednecks, go to the cabin. Once there, all five have problems with the Evil and we get to see how they deal with it. It is a very good prequel to AoD. The only thing that bothers me with this movie is when one of the people turn into a deadite, it spews green blood when Ash starts hacking. Every other deadite has red blood and it looks gorier. Green blood takes the gore away. It not a person anymore. Still an entertaining movie.
Army of Darkness (1992)
A hilarious comedy
If you completely ignore the fact that The Evil Dead was a horror movie, you will find this movie hilarious. I have only seen the director's cut and I loved it. There is no bloody gore unlike the first two and there is no horror in the atmosphere. There is not a single scary part to this movie. It is hilarious. The one-liners he uses make no sense to the time period, which I think is very funny. The mini Ashes attacking big Ash and the face stretch, I think, are incredibly hilarious. They may be a little cartoony, but it is entertaining to watch. The skeleton army is also quite entertaining to listen too. An excellent comedy
The Evil Dead (1981)
A great classic horror movie
For 1981, this is a scary horror movie. I am 17 and saw this for the first time a few months ago. It was one of the creepiest I've seen, ever. I never jumped so much but the mood is creepy. The sequels are not true horror movies. They are more comedies than anything else. This movie is a great horror movie because with a budget of $375,000, and college students as actors and crew, it pins you on your seat with no great effects to scare you. Great movie. 9 out of 10
