Cuando acecha la maldad (2023)
I think I watched a different version...
I've read excellent reviews about this one. Scariest movie of 2023, 90 something percent on rotten tomatos... Well, let's check it out.
The first 30 or 40 minutes were very good. Slow paced horror, not many dialogues and than, a thrilling sequence at the town. Confusion, overlayed discussions, panic and dynamic cuts set the tone.
And... That's it. After this inicial sequences everything, and I really mean everything, was thrown away.
Things stopped making sense, all sollutions came from out of knowhere and... Boom. It became a boring and, in many ways, stupid movie. Even The acting started to sound ridiculous.
Some were frustrated by the unexplained ending scene, but by that time, I wasn't even paying attention anymore.
By the end of the day, It's just another horror flick that I will not remember what was all about in like 2 or 3 days.
Kinetta (2005)
Kind of movie that I love
Well. I'm not sure why, but I love movies like these.
Not a plot going on, not a very known backstory, lots of experiments... Great.
I do love this director, but never heard about this one.
Decided to take a look and... well. I truly enjoyed It.
I never went to Greece so... maybe there's a lot of things that make sense only for the locals but, still, I loved the ambience, the rythm, the silence.
It touched me in a strange way.
I'm not sure If this is a movie to recommend, but give It a chance.
Maybe, who known, it's your kind of movie too?
And, for sure, it's a great introduction to Yorgos cinema.
The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
Ok! Let's begin
I do not speak english very well so, if this review is incomprehensible, I apologize.
First of all, I never played the game. So, let's analyse the quality as a serie, without any comparission.
Intriguing how each episode has its own style. Not only visually, but also at the way the story is told.
This one, particularly, is beautiful. Almost a visual poetry about life and cumplicity.
I love slow paced episodes. Specially if, individually, it tells an important part of the whole world holocaust.
I think The Last of Us brings a lot of originality. Not only action, fights and suspense.
I really like this. It runs away of the obvious storytelling and gives us one surprise after another, week by week.
This one, so far, is my favourite one.
It gives up the main character and focus on a completely different part of the story. I loved that.
I'm not a fan of videogames, but I do recomend this one.
Can't wait for the next episode.
Great work.
A Sombra do Fogo (2015)
Modern low budget masterpiece
Blocking different moments and not worriyng about linearity, Jean Grimard succeds on this low budget production. It tells the story about an ingenuous scoundrel named Rony, showing his life on the streets, scheme after scheme, untill he becomes a homeless.
The authenticity of the camera and the mixture of conventional dramaturgy and modern cinema work perfectly, creating a beautiful mosaic about the invisible to society.
This is a brazilian movie for sure.
Shazam! (2019)
Cool
Cool.
Senseless, grumpy, unpretentious.
This is the formula.
Way better than Endgame.
Shazam.
Halloween (1978)
Uau!
The low budget masterpiece.
The real beginning of all slasher movies, thank you Carpenter for that.
Put yourself in the 70's and feel the magic.
