Inside No. 9: Mr. King (2022)
The Hunt with mads mikkelson
Did sheersmith and Pemberton watch the hunt with mads mikkelson. Very similar storyline with the teacher accused by the pupil. Very good episode though disturbing.
The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021)
Who is Louis Wain
You may not know the man but you'll know his artwork. A beautifully sad movie on an man whose life didn't quite end in a fairytale. Cumberbatch shines in this along with Claire foy and leads as a lead shines. I loved this movie and like so many others who didn't quite realise what he gave to the world fully.
A Royal Queens Christmas (2021)
Is this Coming to America
A royal Prince is to be married but ends up in Queens. Sound familiar. Yep it's Coming to America without mcdowalls and Samuel l jackson. The difference is there's not best friend and no James Earl Jones.
No Time to Die (2021)
Very enjoyable movie. But craig dosent have connery or moores comedic timing
From the first scene if you're a bond fan you recognise. Overall Daniel Craig has done thr character justice and is maybe more like how bond should be. But Connery will always be the best. But a fitting end and how I view how heroes should be done. Tearful.
Help (2021)
Fantastic
I'm just glad my mum who died from alzeimers didn't have to go through this when she passed over 11 years ago. Harrowing to think this happened. Both jodie and Stephen give a tour de force of acting in this. Gives you an insight to the care system under pressure.
Code 404 (2020)
Great wordplay comedy
Really enjoying this. Though if they made a serious crime drama with Stephen and daniel it would still be great
Man from Atlantis: The Naked Montague (1977)
Enjoyable episode
I enjoyed this episode tbh. This was a great series when it first aired in the UK in the 70s and has lost none of its charm although the premise becomes more scifi. Alot of people may dismiss it but think of how star trek used history and real people and then you realise it isn't so far fetched.
The Handmaid's Tale: The Crossing (2021)
You watch enough 80s action movies you know why the hero can't be killed.
Very good episode but I thought it was a trap to lure gilead minions to their death. The final scenes re-imagined street spirit by radiohead in the escape. Powerful ending to a fairly good episode but Ive come to realise this is how they make them.
Chicago Fire: Don't Hang Up (2021)
How did he get in the tree
This is either lazy writing or just stupid. Did the guy fly into the tree to avoid the accident. Its physically impossible for that to happen considering they hit a mail box.
Man from Atlantis: Giant (1977)
Jack and the beanstalk inspired I suspect.
Excellent episide with kareem as the giant. One of the best episodes of the season.
Yi dai zong shi (2013)
I expected a martial arts movie. I got more than that
Having watched martial art movies since the 70s. I'm not a hardcore fan but I enjoy them from first watching the iconic the water margin and enter the dragon and through the 80s and 90s till today. This was a beautifully shot movie and it was more than a martial arts movie it was a, life story told in a passionate way. Simply moving and emotional. A bittersweet ending that made me both smile and ache at the same time.
Star Trek: Discovery: Forget Me Not (2020)
S3 is far far superior to the previous 2 seasons.
As a harsh critic of the previous 2 seasons finding that the orville was a better show than discovery I have to admit s3 has been excellent. The change in Michaels personality has made this a far better show and the chemistry with both her and book has made this more fun. I hope he returns. This episode was sheer brilliance in both the storytelling and connection with both adrira and grey and kudos to both actors for portraying the heartbreaking sacrifice they made. Had a touch of worf and jadzia. I actually shed a few tears. Keep going like this and this harsh critic may find nothing to to criticize. This season has been great
Gangs of London (2020)
Didn't like it. Not a patch on Warrior
This basically is very poor and I know folk who thought this was great. Characters are stereotypical of a British b list crime movie. Good cast but weak. I just didn't care about the characters and I watched nearly the who first episode. Normally the first episode has small glimmers of a good story but no not for me. I'll stick with Warrior.
I Hate Suzie (2020)
Slow start but worth watching to the end
Was unsure about this with the first few episodes but thoroughly enjoyed it and the last three episodes were great. Youll either get it or you won't. You'll either think its crap or the best thing you've watched.
Code 404 (2020)
Great wordplay comedy
Really enjoying this. Though if they made a serious crime drama with Stephen and daniel it would still be great
COBRA (2020)
Great show why the hate
This was a fantastic drama and I'm watching this at the height of covid 19. Well written well acted and great cast. Robert carlyle is great as the PM. And Richard dormer puts in another great performance along with the rear of the cast. Well done looking forward to s2
Spy Wars (2019)
Great series
Having watched Damian in various roles this series concentrates on spys and spycraft. This is a great series and Damian narrates this series well. Binged watched this on history. Hope for a season 2. If you like shows like homeland, the Americans and false flag this is up your street
Gentleman Jack: Are You Still Talking? (2019)
Suranne Jones was born for this role.
Fantastic series up there with the likes of line of duty and poldark for the BBC and a nice replacement for poldark which is coming to an end. Great cast and a little Dr who crossover as Peter Davidson Dr no.5 and suranne who played the manifestation of the tardis. Everything works in this and the chemistry between the cast is first class. Looking forward to s2. The only actor to is surannes performance in this is Stephen Graham in the virtues on ch4.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
2nd best battle scene I've just watched
Watched avengers endgame yesterday the battle scenes in that are awesome. This is 2nd to it. I thought after watching these 2 I thought my stress levels would finish me off. Great episode and though I thought Jon would kill the night king I'm glad he didn't because that would be predictable. Will miss this show when it ends
Warren (2019)
Think it's not everyone's humour
I enjoy this and maybe relate to it as Warren is a grumpy git. It's not on the same par as white gold but still very good. Too much hate
Captain Marvel (2019)
Good about the same level as ff4 2005 version
Pretty good movie but not a wow factor in it with the fight scenes. I didn't feel it through the trailers either but I knew it wouldnt be the strongest marvel movie. But I enjoyed it. Watch it again in say 15 years you might appreciate it 8 out of 10.
Professor T. (2015)
Professor T aka Hannibal Lector
Having watched the movies about hannibal lector and then the masterpiece Hannibal with Mads Mikkelson and Hugh Dancy I am currently watching S3 in the UK on Walter Presents and am getting a strange parallel to silence of the lambs. Lector like teerlinck is in jail a new female detective saskia vogels enters much like lector and starling. Is verbercke his frances dollerhyde?. Excellent 3rd season. Hopefully not get cancelled after 3 seasons like hannibal. Maybe he and verbercke do a reichenbach fall at the end similar to Holmes moriarty
The Orville: A Happy Refrain (2019)
Data in love 2.0
As soon as I saw the description I remember the episode in star trek tng. When data had relationship with a human crew member. This story was a great but sad story. This is a great homage to thar episode.
Les Misérables (2018)
Amazing adaptation
The cast led by Dominic and David create this masterpiece without the music fans of the stage show know so well. Can't fault this really though the music of fantine and valjeans death would have made this more emotional and that is were the musical is better. Its more emotive. British drama at its best.
Suikoden (1973)
More legendary than game of thrones and sets the standard.
Just rewatching this for the 3rd time in my life. Remember watching this on a Sunday 10pm BBC2. Well written and still imo stands the test of time. A story for the ages. No. 1 series to come out of the Asian continent ever. No. 2 being Monkey.
