The OA: Overview (2019)
ended just as it got good
This show really pushes the audience with how weird it can get. its sits on the line if "okay time to turn this off" while still remaining gripping. I really hope they have some good answers.
The Walking Dead: The Storm (2019)
ive always wanted winter on the show
They seriously need to do an entire season in the winter that as refreshing as the series has been since season 1. It was simple yet powerful plot device.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
people are so toxic, Thanks for the awesome show!
No spoilers here, but the ending was pretty great. Its predictable to an extent but did a good job wrapping up the story. I agree that the final season was rushed, it needed more episodes, but what we got was still pretty solid. This season might not be the highest rated but its most certainly not as bad as these review scores reflect, this is just outrage culture at its worst. We actually are getting an ending to a song of ice and fire, something the books will never get to, and in the years to come after the author has died and the book series remains incomplete this ending will most certainly be appreciated. This IS the ending of the books, like it or hate it this is how it ends.
Let this be a lesson to future networks and show runners, DON'T rush your story. This show died in the fans eyes the moment the night king was and the army of the dead died in one episode and never recovered. Its not that the last 3 episodes were bad its that fans were so displeased with how rushed the white walkers were. We all know that was an entire season of story swept under the rug in one episode. And then the fans review bombed the series. Youtubers banked in on hate bait and made the situation even worse, and now anytime GoT is mentioned there will always be some guy saying how bad it was.
This was a great show, and a great adaptation, with a solid ending. It has flaws but if you can separate the books and the show, it really stands on its owns legs as its own take on the series, I for one loved it and without question believe its still on a much higher tier than the average show. I'm a fan of D&D, i always trusted them, and they didn't let me down.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Breaking the wheel: one of the greatest moments in fantasy
This episode truly lives up to the story its adapting and is one of the most heartbreaking twists of thrones. Truly brilliant, the foreshadowing for this has been built from the early hours of the series and seeing hbo push forward with what needed to be done despite knowing it would upset the fanbase that wanted a safe traditional fantasy ending was appreciated. So many powerful moments packed into this heart breaking episode. The wheel has been broken <3
Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)
One of the episodes
This episode was an amazing follow up to the long night, it really did a great job of closing loose ends and setting up the final events of the story. As a huge cersei fan it was really nice to see some big plays made that actually make sense. Cersei is one of the few characters that actually makes well thought out grabs for power, and while she has made mistakes im glad to see her get the upper hand once again. The opening feast scene was also brilliant, as the scene goes on to show how much of an outsider danny feels in westeroes its really begins to lay the foundation of her downfall. it was a highly effective turn of pace for how quickly its been introduced. The truth about jon's claim for the thrones is shaping up for a dramatic payoff in the final hours.
