Bigger and Badder (2013)
A crime tale with some serious bite
I was lucky enough to catch this short earlier this week. What begins as a tried and tested crime thriller quickly turns convention on it's head. An impressive tone, cast, direction and soundtrack all come together to create something special. Even if shorts aren't your cup of tea (they're not mine) 'Bigger and Badder' may go a ways to change your opinion. The production values are impressive as are the special effects. In what comes across as a less is more approach to horror the film makers manage to inject some serious tension and dread when it's required. Hunt this beast down, before it gets to you first! The only genuine complaint I had was it wasn't a feature film.
Feast II: Sloppy Seconds (2008)
Great fun and solid sequel
The sequel picks up right were part one left off and brings back the same director, writers and most of the cast (even those that got munched). The result is a genuinely offensive riot which will have you laughing out loud in utter disbelief and revulsion.
The budget for Feast 2 is only a third of the original so when you take that into account it's a mean feat they managed to pull of such a solid sequel. Sure at times the budget restraints show but not to the extent that it takes you out of the film. I'm being vague in regards to details but that is just because to reveal anything would be to ruin some awesome and shockingly nasty scenes. I must stress that some scenes are very un p.c and outright nasty. It has one hell of a mean streak, so be warned that anybody is fair game and I mean ANYBODY!!! You have been warned.
