The Witcher (2019)
WOWWW!!!
I'm lost for words which is a first. Remember when LOTR came to life in 2001 and we were all amazed with the visuals and the story telling and the acting? What a time to be alive, having the chance to see another masterpiece before the end of the decade. Omg I cannot stress enough how much I loved this, just binged the whole season in not even a day. I am so impressed and so excited for the next season. This is exactly what this generation needs, to see how we grew up with amazing shows like this - QUALITY OVER QUANTITY people!
A Discovery of Witches (2018)
WOW!
I did not expect this. Only 3 episodes out and I am so hooked. Acting amazing, plot amazing, scenery amazing. This look brill!
Soundtrack is fab as well.
A la mala (2015)
Fresh and fun with a feel of a telenovela
This is a mixture of Hitch, The Ugly Truth and She's the Man. It's endearing and adorable with a great cast.
Ala Mala (Maria Laura) is any woman out there trying to outsmart her heart and losing.
Mauricio Ochmann aka Santiago deserved a lot more character development. It's started good but I guess Aislinn's character is the focus.
So many of these actors are highly acclaimed Hispanic and Mexican stars that I enjoy watching.
P.S. If you liked Ochmann's character and think about how he would look a little badass try El Senior de los Cielos or El Chema. He's AMAZING!
La casa de papel (2017)
You can't stop binge-watching this!
This is addictive to the point that you don't understand how you've watched it all at once.
It's unpredictable, it's suspenseful, it's twisted, it's AMAZING!
Why it has so many mixed reviews here I really don't get it. Probably because of some inaccuracies with the plot.
I for one sometimes need a show that gives me those extreme emotions. This was one of them, I enjoyed it a lot.
Coco (2017)
Life is precious and family is a gift. Cherish it!
If you've ever lost someone watching this movie is the best way to celebrate and cheris those memories.
This movie touched my soul.
I cried my eyes out while thinking about my life till this moment. This is so precious, not only to those that lost someone they loved but also to the Mexican culture.
Life is precious and family is a gift. Cherish it!
The Greatest Showman (2017)
This is how you musical!
I could watch it on repeat and still feel glorious, fantastic and touched afterwards. It's uplifting, heartfelt, a film that we can all enjoy together.
It may not be historically accurate but in the world we are in today we need every little bit of hope we can get.
It has been a long time since a movie made me feel so HAPPY!
Siyah Beyaz Ask (2017)
A must watch!!!
Just finished ep 16 after binge-watching it. It's been such a long time since a Turkish drama has me so hooked.
JUST WATCH IT!
I cannot even explain how great this show is and how well they are playing their characters, especially Ibrahim Celikkol. Saw a few other movies of his but this ROLE OMG!!!!!!! This guy needs an Oscar and I have a new obsession haha.
Fifty Shades Freed (2018)
From a MOTU fan - after all these years finally a full circle! My life is complete
Been a fan of the books since the author wrote it as a fanfiction. It was extremely hard to contain my joy every time she updated. I cried, I laughed, I cringed, I ended up frustrated but always going back for more.
This is not a movie for people that don't want to add some spice in their lives. This is more a review for those that are into erotica reading. My cinema decided to have a pre-screening last night so of course I wanted to see the last part of something that for me was a solace in moments of solitude.
Long story short, for those that are fans of the book YOU will enjoy it like hell. You will fall in love again with the characters, you will leave the cinema with a smile on your face and your heart at peace.
For those that feel this is embarrassing to watch in a room full of people order a copy at home. You will enjoy it! You will be annoyed probably but in the end you'll
understand a little bit why so many people are into this.
It's not about the kinky stuff, it's more about how some tortured souls found their happily ever after by giving love a change.
P.S. The soundtrack was ok but not one song stood out to me like in the previous 2. But yeah, it worked with the scenes I guess.
The Snowman (2017)
Visually stunning & constant tension
The movie has a rapid pace from the first 2 minutes. You start to have ideas of who can be the snowman and with each scene you will change your mind. Loved the fact that it's not that easy to understand the action with back and forth pieces of the puzzle.
Not many will understand it! But those who will will appreciate how stunning the scenes where created.
Miss Sloane (2016)
A thrill ride of a movie that will leave you awed by the time it's finished. JUST SEE IT!
One of the best movies I have ever seen. The intensity of the movie is unrivaled, twists and turns around every corner. You can't predict what's coming next.
The hidden message is NOT about gun control, it's about corruption nepotism even greed and how deep it goes in the system. This will strike a cord in many countries today. It's about a cat and mouse game to see who can pull more tricks.
Sloane is one badass character. Jessica Chastain delivers a phenomenal performance! I'm definitely going to see more of her films now.
Besides the amazing plot and acting, another thing that stood out to me was that the only person not selling her was the call-boy. Talk about irony. One considered working a "filthy" job is the only one with ethics and moral.
Probably some of you won't agree given the low ratings the movie has here but we're all entitled to have our opinions.
A thrill ride of a movie that will leave you awed by the time it's finished. JUST SEE IT!
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
This was the ONE movie of the franchise connecting all others
*** This review may contain spoilers ***
When I first heard about Tokyo Drift and realized that it would feature none of the original cast members, I was hesitant to see it. Can you imagine what a risk the producers took to make this one? At that time we did not know it was the ONE movie of the franchise connecting all others with one of its major characters.
Sung demonstrated a lot of talent, making his heartbroken character believable. We see his emotions throughout the movie and we want to know what happened to him, to understand him a little better. After watching Fast 6 come back and see this one. It will all add up.
I've seen so many reviews saying that character development was too hurried, for those saying that I only want to say this: Have you watched all the movies???? It annoys me so much seeing people review without knowing what these movies are about.
Tokyo Drift takes place after 6, which shows how much effort the writers and producers put into this franchise. It was all written way back. To have that imagination is effing amazing.
When I first saw Tokyo Drift, I could not see what it had to do with The Fast and Furious series. I got mad. I just couldn't get it. Funny thing is that the character I loved the most was HAN. My brain was blow away when I saw the other movies. I was like "What's happening? Isn't he dead?" "What? How? When?"
So you can imagine that after knowing he's going to die seeing the relationship developing with Gisele was killing me. Now I could see why he wasn't giving a s**t. Like, he was the coolest out there without showing it. Why wasn't he claiming his spot? Because he lost everything that really mattered to him. Ride or die, remember?
What a way to blow our minds. You killed it with the whole plot dear writers. I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THE 8 MOVIES launched so far.
And yes, I will be a die hard fan of this franchise even when I'm 50. Thank you Sung Kang and Gal Gadot for giving me one of my favorite on screen couples with just a few scenes.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
I went to see it to remind myself that you never turn your back on family
After seeing all the Fast and Furious movies I can proudly say that The Fate of the Furious has rightfully lived up to that mark.
Don't watch it if you expect something much more than which one should expect from this franchise. I mean come on it's F&F, if you're going to sit there and think about plot holes and some stunts then you're going to miss the fun.
I have read some of the reviews here, and I am wondering why people can't take the movie for what it is? It's not supposed to be accurate, and realistic, and believable. Do you really think the Potter universe exists when you see the movies?
The last dialog of the movie sums up everything, trust me it does. It had an uncanny resemblance to Vin Deisel's real life. "That was the greatest tribute I could give to the man off-screen. And so the greatest tribute I could give Paul's character was that scene", Vin said in a statement.
I went to see it to remind myself that you never turn your back on family, which has become a staple not only in the franchise but also in my life.
Go for it!
Contratiempo (2016)
Want to see a great thriller? This is it!
Can't believe this movie doesn't have more reviews here. This being my 6th movie with Mario Casas I've seen these past 2 years I can honestly say anything this man plays in becomes a hit.
What an amazing ride I had with this thriller. Top-notch movie, whenever you think you found out the plot it becomes even more twisted.
This is what thrillers are all about. A must see for the genre lovers.
Big Little Lies (2017)
This sets extremely high expectations for shows to come.
The show discusses problems that real life people face and I feel the characters are so well developed.
Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern gave breathtaking performances. Directing, screenplay, photography, everything is so on point it's brilliant.
Beautiful cinematography and the amazing soundtrack blend everything together so well. I just binge-watched the entire mini series and I can only tell you that this is the show you've been waiting for.
This sets extremely high expectations for shows to come.
Deliha (2014)
Çok Onu Sevdim
Loved it. Came here for Baris Arduc but what a surprise I got. Amazing story, great writing from Gupse.
If you are in a bad mood, GO AND WATCH THIS MOVIE. It will change your mood 100%.
Realistic, hilarious, a show stealer.
Çok Onu Sevdim <3
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Go if you want to relive your childhood
I finally had to change to go back to my childhood with this one.
Many complain the CGI doesn't look realistic. Well how much more realistic do you want a teacup to look?
I avoided spoilers these last weeks, besides Evans and Watson I did not know who else was playing and what a surprise I got. Recently went to see T2 Trainspotting where McGregor was amazing. So seeing him in this one weee hoo. McGregor with a French accent does not disappoint one bit.
Still don't get why it was banned in some parts of the world because of the gay moments. Gad stole the show on so many occasions and made the character so likable.
I for one loved the movie. I felt an emotional connection with the story. It may have been because of it being my first animated movie when I was a kid, it may have been the great acting or the 3D experience.
The thing is, I enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it to all those that want to relive a little bit their childhood.
