Good addition to the series
16 April 2022
Starts slow but once setup has great effects and lots of background info you wanted to know from Harry Potter.

And the ending hints there is more to come.

This Wife for Hire (1985 TV Movie)

know the source of this film
22 October 2005
I have first hand knowledge of the source of this film. From a story out of Seattle Washington about a young woman, she was single, who started a well publicized business catering to athletes who need food, cleaning and a mother. She developed the business starting with a famous NBA center by the name of Jack Sikma who played for the Supersonics. My wife became involved through our friendship with the entrepreneur. The story was Hollywoodized and lost some of its gusto. The film is poor not in any way to the discredit of those who started the show. Any drama that came because of marital issues, portrayed in the film, was of course fictional. Twenty three years later we remain married. The heroine of the story today is a successful restaurateur, wife, mother and gorgeous socialite in San Diego.

My favorite unknown
22 October 2005
When people ask me what is my favorite movie of all time....there are several answers. One that was a box office hit? Or, my favorite movie no one has ever heard about? This is my favorite film no one knows about. Why, well Jack Nicolson is worth the price of the rental to begin with. His humorous scowl and raise eyebrows which are the trademarks for impressionists one might believe came from this film. Second, the supporting cast is not without merit: Mary Steenburgen, John Belushi, Danny Devito, Christopher Lloyd, Veronica Cartwright, Ed Begley Jr. with the added adventure of the film being Directed by none other than Jack himself. There are several memorable scenes. One:being the opening where Jack, we discover, is being chased on horseback-great camera work here. Jack in the mines chanting he could do this "all night long" as a double entrende. His interaction with Mary who is the uptight spinster. I love it!!! Worth being a Nicolsonite.

Lemmon and the gorgeous Virna
12 July 2005
Jack Lemmon is at his comedy best, in the genre of some like it hot, while his gorgeous co-star here is not Marilyn but Italian Virna Lisi beckons all of us to speak Italian.

She cooks, she kisses, she cooks .......all while looking like the best of Gina Lolabrigida and Marilyn Monroe wrapped in silk (the white dress in the party scene is breathtaking).

The Classic Terri Thomas shows once again his comedic under used genius as the English genteel butler. The court testimony of Terri is almost worth the film.

Jack Lemmon goes on to make so many great films while we are left to Italian dubs of Virna best. She has had a stellar career in Italy as she has ages oh so gracefully. At 68 she is still a babe. Virna and Sophia as a 70 year old women show the pure glory of womanhood.

With How to Murder Your Wife I laugh, I lust and I so enjoy the early sixties social comedy films that are absent Rock Hudson.
