Greatest LDS Movie Since "Gods Army"
26 February 2004
I just got back from seeing this and I loved it! This movie had it all, hilarious moments, inspiring and emotional storytelling, great acting, and even a great scenic background of the Netherlands! This movie shows the hardships a missionary faces and the reasons why people go on missions in the first place! Some major high points were Kirby Heyborne who showed that he had range and could come to be a really great actor for LDS cinema. I also loved Scott Christopher who didn't over act or become a burden, in fact he was definitely a highlight in this movie! I went to this movie with a lot of returned missionaries and they all could relate to the story. I suggest this movie to all those who want a see a movie that is fun to watch and one that everyone can enjoy! I hope that these kind of movies continue to be made!

Mixed-Feelings
6 November 2003
First of all, I am pleased with the outcome of the movie. And although the movie seemed to go on forever (even though it was only two hours) I still think that it needed to be longer. Many things were left out of this movie, some that needed to be addressed and others that were better left up to the imagination. I do know one thing though, I have never in my life felt a scene as intense as the Battle of Zion. Everyone knows that they aren't going to see an Oscar-worthy performance from any of the actors in these movies but I was impressed with Keanu Reeves' emotion in one of the only emotion felt scenes in the movie. Final thought: Worth the emotion put in the film over the years as well as the money! **** out of *****

Pete's Meteor (1998)
Right Idea, Wrong Script
13 June 2003
When Jim Carrey signed up to play in "The Majestic" he wanted to show audiences that he could play a more serious role. I thought that he did an excellent job at doing just that, but the script lacked and so the movie flopped. In "Pete's Meteor" Mike Myers faces the same doom. I respect an actor that wants to show his range, in fact that's the reason why I saw this film, but unfortunately a lot of that success depends on the script that the actor has been given. Mike Myers plays Pete, a former drug dealer that has to pay off old debts and wants to help his late-friend's children at the same time. I thought that Myers did an excellent job acting and of course his terrific range with accents, and I definitely believe that he deserves more serious, dramatic role opportunities. I was quite disappointed that Myers wasn't in this movie more, and sadly I was more sympathetic towards the scientist in this film that just never seems to get a break. Only near the end does Myers get the chance to shine. So be warned, this script is lacking and the movie drags much of the time, but is worth a watch if only to see Myers.

Making Film History-Again!
15 May 2003
First of all, I am a HUGE Matrix fan! Although many people complained about this film not being as "fresh" as the first, I disagree. When we first saw The Matrix, we were being introduced into something totally new, and now we know that the Matrix exists so obviously there won't be something totally shocking in the second film like finding out that the world we thought was "real" was actually a computer program. So I think a lot of people went into the second one with a "twist" expectation. However, the action in this film is just plain amazing! The big brawl with Neo and Agent Smith was with lack of a better phrase, stunning! The car chase in the film was also one of the best chases in a long while. A few critics complained that the bullet-time was getting old in this film, but although they might have a point I still think that no one can do it like the Wachowski Bros. and no matter who else decides to do it in their films, The Matrix is where it all started. Fans will be pleased with the amazing computer and special effects in Reloaded, and even better action and fighting sequences. Way-to-go Wachowski Bros. for raising the bar in Action Films! 9/10
