Sweet November (1968)
hurry-hurry, ding-ding
I love this movie, and I do not like the sequel. Some things are best left alone, as they say.
I saw Sweet November when it was released in 1968, I just out of high school.
I watched Sweet November whenever it was on TV.
I taped Sweet November off of cable, and still have it on VHS.
I wait for Sweet November to be released on DVD.
I cried each and every time I saw Sweet November.
I cried when I heard of the death of Sandy Dennis.
I cried when I heard of the death of Anthony Newley.
I cry not to have this sweet, wonderful movie in my own collection.
Please... "hurry-hurry, ding-ding"!
One of Us (2002)
One of the best
One of Us is one of the best short films I've seen in quite a while. David Zimmerman's flawless performance as Loki, a guy caught in the middle and in over his head, is completely convincing -- funny yet tragic. The small cast is built with good supporting characters, such as Loki's friend Kathy, played brilliantly by Britt Erickson, and Nick, played perfectly by Rick Fitzgerald. The short story like plot written and directed by John Lighten works very well here and is worth the view, and the surprise ending is great. One of Us is reminiscent of an early television play -- when television was actually good and well crafted. Short but fulfilling, One of Us captures real life in a fantasy situation, or possibly the other way around.
