Seen it all before oh so many times!
27 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the most terrible movies I have seen in a long time, copied from so many others. There was no wondering what would happen next and the camera-work was deplorable. Some scenes were totally unwatchable to the point that I had to look away. I understand that close filming and wobbling the camera while filming can produce a more dramatic effect however the camera all but touched the actors.

The acting was OK,definitely no awards though. A couple of scenes had some great acting that was believable.

I guess it is also the unbelievable coincidences that make these style movies so hard to watch. The tree with the perfect place for the bag to sit and then the man in the boat that went straight past and would have no idea at all that the bag was put in the tree somehow finds it. Or how even after being attacked and dumping the husband onto the road knowing full well that the criminals are after them continues on the same road. Maybe only the writer of this movie would do that as only he/she could be that stupid as shown with this script.

Overall I am disappointed with myself for watching the whole movie. My best advice is only watch this movie if you like predictable movies with unbelievable events and copied events for other movies.

Due Date (2010)
1/10
Wish I hadn't subjected myself to this waste of time.
8 February 2011
If I could give this film 0 out of 10 I would. By the end I had a headache through disbelief that someone could make a movie so bad. Let alone a movie with a big name like Robert Downy Jr. in it. Robert Downy Jr. should sack his agent immediately for even suggesting a role in Due Date.

An attempt at copying a classic film like Planes, Trains and Automobiles that more than failed to achieve a laugh. Steve Martin and John Candy pulled it off with a well written plot, good timing and the fact that they were comedians. You find yourself feeling sorry for the actors in this film who obviously struggled in the comedic roles.

I also could not believe the violence against children, that really sickened me. Abusing children is not funny at all.

Please think carefully before wasting your time with this less than B grade movie.

Best Movie of 2010
14 January 2011
I found this movie to be a perfect mix of genres. The action wasn't overdone like most movies and the comedy couldn't have been better timed. Even though the film was centred around a romantic idea it wasn't a romance, more an attempt to lead a normal life. Leaving this movie more in the action genre than romance.

The characters were well casted and really meshed giving the movie a real feel. Bruce as always was a great lead, making you not only want to know what happens but need to know what happens.

The surprises throughout the movie were great and you never knew what to expect even though the storyline was very similar to a lot of other movies and you could tell what the end product would be.

In conclusion I would say that this movie is a must see, settle in and get ready to laugh as I did.

Best movie for 2010
10 October 2010
This movie had me captured from start to finish. Although predictable as with 99% of movies made, this movie created a need to see the twists and turns associated with each character. I found myself wanting to be the weak hiccup, with the will to succeed even when told by his own father he isn't up to the job.

The characters were very lovable each in their own right and worked very well together. Casting could not have been better, complimenting the already well written plot.

I was very impressed by the way the flight of the dragons was as would be expected and did not look fake. Taking into account gravity, wind and other factors. The wings bellowing with wind in them.

Overall I would say that this movie is the one to see in 2010 and certainly the best I have seen for this year. Very easy for the whole family to enjoy. Thank you for the experience.

The Phantom (2009)

Excellent
27 September 2010
If this were a movie it would have been the best I had seen in a long long time. At last there are shows again without the huge explosions every five minutes and mostly CGI.

The cast were brilliant and worked flawlessly together. Just need to have Ryan not look like he is smiling most of the time. The relationships were very believable, making you want to be there with them.

Very impressive sets, not to over the top and I liked the way Phantom was brought into this century.

This is a definite for all to enjoy, especially Phantom fans who should embrace the changes made to improve and modernise.

Pathetic Humour
7 September 2010
This film is a very poor attempt at trying to capture humour from terrorism. I was very skeptical before watching with good reason. I highly doubt whether any director can make terrorism funny and nor should they even try.

Next was the casting. The over acting was to a point where these actors will probably never get another role in another movie.

It was so predictable there wasn't anything I didn't see coming. Hopefully the director thinks twice before making another monstrosity like this again. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear of this film.

Do not waste your time.
29 August 2010
This was one of the worst movies I have seen. Must have been first time roles for the actors unless they just grabbed people off the street. The whole movie felt fake and very forced due to the poor acting.

The storyline was definitely usable albeit a twist of many movies such as Stargate etc... I don't even know if that part of the movie was needed. It was like 2 short films put together to make a full length film.

The cgi was average and the fight scenes were very obviously acted and not believable at all.

All in all I would say a huge disappointment. Do not waste your time watching this movie.

Pathetic
18 June 2010
I found this movie very disappointing from the start. America has it's own mythology and I could not think of any reason that Greek Mythology would find it's way to America. Very similar to all other movies where America supposedly saves the day for the whole world which makes for a very boring and predictable movie. I haven't read the book or books which is probably for the best.

The acting was reasonable, definitely no awards for anyone here. The roles meshed well though which saved this from being the worst movie I have seen.

The sfx were quite well done and not over the top like most films. I particularly liked the water in the fight scenes and the souls from the fireplace in Hell.

In summary I think this movie failed due to the lack of information about Greek Mythology for people that aren't historically wise and being set in America which was so distractingly out of place it ruined the whole film. I also expected the Gods to be more impressive and at least have an accent of origin.
