Partir (2009)
The Grass is NOT greener on the other side
Basically this movie is about an adulteress who has forgotten about the covenant she made with her husband and lusts after another man. The husband like any good husband is jealous to see his wife in the arms of another man and makes life hard for the adulteress and her fornicator. Others saw the husband's actions as callous, however, I view the husband's actions as those which come out of jealousy. I thought the acting was very good with Kristin Scott Thomas doing an exceptional job as the wife committing adultery. I tended to sympathize with the husband in this movie as which husband can just sit back and allow his wife to be in another man's arms. That God given jealousy was evident in this movie and I think that all husbands' whose wives have cheated on them can sympathize with the message of this movie.

Predators (2010)
Predators have lost their Killer Instinct
As having seen the original and number 2 I thought this would continue that great tradition, but alas, this was rubbish. Although there has been much criticism regarding AVP and AVP2, I thought the first AVP had some merit but if it had a stronger cast and storyline it would have been better.
Firstly the cast seems to be dull, Adrian Brody is no Arnold Schwarzenegger. He actually looks and sounds like an idiot and is a try hard throughout the entire movie. If the lead role cannot be taken seriously the rest of the movie is dire straights. Further in the first Predator movie, time was spent getting to know the characters and that way the audience had empathy with the characters. Here we couldn't care what happened to them. Also Tropher Grace, the guy from Spiderman 3 is in this disaster and really doesn't add to the movie.
The script writers need to be fired. There really is no plot here. A group of 'worthy' prey is abducted from earth and sent to this Alien planet to provide some hunting for the predators. What angers me is that these Super Predators, really can't beat the speed or efficiency of the first predator. These really don't seem that menacing and have lost their KILLER INSTINCT. I think even the weapons from AVP were better than the weapons they have here. Also why have the scene with Lawrence Fishborne? He seems to be bipolar or schizophrenic and wants to kill the group and take their weapons. Also we have this Yakuza member that fights this super predator with a samurai sword and manages to force a tie with both of them being killed? This is supposed to be a super predator who is faster, more powerful and smarter than the regular predator seen in the first predator movie. This is would be like comparing a commando to a soldier in the regular army. Also the predators have very little screen time. It seems that they rushed the script and the acting and action were casualties of that decision.
This is a movie you should see only once and that is on free to air TV. This is a pathetic effort at making a movie. If this was all the fuss regarding Robert Rodriguez's script, then this script needs to be burned and another script writer with some talent should be employed. Really can't blame Nimrod too much as the script and cast is weak. Also they really need to give the predator that Killer Instinct it had in the first two movies. I will say that those who attempted the AVP movie had some good ideas but needed a stronger cast and story. I did like the weapons used in that movie. Also where has all the blood gone? The first two movies had tonnes of blood in them and it seems that as sequels have been made they have toned down the gore. We want gore. That is why we watch predator movies - good script, good cast and gore. A note to movie directors: Give us what we want, or else we will boycott the cinema.

Robin Hood (2010)
Absolute Rubbish
Okay stay away from this rubbish. It seems that Ridley Scott has really lost his knack and delivered this piece of amateurish rubbish. It seems that the script writers were like five year old children writing a movie for adults. If I were five years old I may indeed like this but I think mature minds need mature material. The plot if ridiculous. Why would Robin Hood spend most of his time in the movie playing the part of a dead husband? Would not someone in the village have seen through the charade? Further why is Marion a widow and not a virgin? I think after the success of Braveheart, perhaps Mel Gibson should have been entrusted to direct this movie. The ending where Marion rides into battle with little boys is rubbish and the french with their D-Day style landing is absurd. Most of the movie is quite boring and even though Russell Crowe was outstanding in Gladiator, his acting was not up to scratch. If you want watch a good movie, watch Braveheart or Troy and pass this one up. Anyway guys and girls this one belongs in the B movie category.

Ninja Assassin (2009)
Great action - Didn't like the ending much
Hello World! Great action movie - definitely one for the guys who want an action movie with a paper thin plot. However we must give credit where credit is due. The flashbacks to Raizo's childhood and how we see him raised to be an assassin was very good. Also his love for his childhood sweetheart and feeling betrayed by the clan is very good. If the plot has been about him seeking revenge on his own it would have been very good. But they had to involve interpol and the end where we see a bunch of troops with machine guns and rocket launchers invade the hidden base was a bit too much. The fight scenes where Raizo gets revenge on Takeshi and Ozunu are very good. Lots of blood and gore and heaps of action. If you want an engrossing plot you won't find one here. The themes of love, betrayal and revenge are the ones that stand out for me. I'll give this one a 7/10.

He's Just Not That Into You (2009)
The Director, the writer and most of the character don't know what true love is!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello World!!! I was really looking forward to seeing this movie since it was based on the popular book: He's Just Not That into you!!!! Basically my take on the book is that every woman is made for one man who loves her passionately, unconditionally with every fiber of his being. Now that book has been translated into a movie starring actors and actresses such as Drew Barrymore who also produced the movie, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johannson, Jennifer Connelly and Jennifer Anniston. With a a list of actor and actresses one would think that the movie was a true reflection of the book. However this trend of thought is erroneous. Firstly what is the point of having homosexuals giving advice regarding what love between a man and woman should be like? Secondly why is it with Hollywood that nearly every movie must have homosexuals or homosexuality in it? What purpose does this serve? What meaningful insights can they give on a hetrosexual marriage? Also the film unfortunately portrays adultery in a very tame light. It gives the impression that adultery is okay if you have fallen out of love with your spouse. Also the couple played by Ben Affleck and Jennifer Anniston have lived together for seven (7) years and he's really not that into marriage. At the end of the movie he seems to have a revelation that marriage is a covenant for life. Also Jennifer Connelly plays the wife of a man who has had an affair. But hey this is okay and they should just live separate lives and ignore the covenant they made with each other for life. No trying to work things out here - take the easy road. This is a joke. What happened to the love and obsession that a man has for one woman and that he would die for her? Sadly that wasn't portrayed in this movie. Basically everyone sleeps and dates with others until they have found the right one. Hollywood doesn't understand what true love is. Go and watch a real movie like The Family Man!!!!! JNR
The Last House on the Left (2009)
Surreal
This movie is amazing. It is a surreal experience. Yes it does contain gore and there is a rape scene. But the question that lingers even after the credits have rolled is this: What would you do if someone raped and attempted to kill your daughter? How far would you go to protect what you love? Here we have an insight into the protection and care of a father for his daughter as well as what a mother will do if someone touches her child with evil intent. Brilliant cast, exceptional direction a movie not for the faint of heart. This movie is inappropriate for those under 15 due to the graphic nature of the movie.

Whiteout (2009)
Even Kate Can't Resurrect this Mediocrity!
Hello World! What started out as a promising script has turned into another wasted opportunity. Either the director did not liaise with the author of the book or the writer that was hired for this script thought that the audience are idiots. Anyway the start of the movie with the Russian plane going down was good, after that well make a cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee cause it goes down hill from that point on. There are some holes in the plot for example when Kate's character goes to another camp to question a witness wouldn't she have taken backup or someone with her already knowing that there has been a murder? Wouldn't the killer have followed the trio when they were investigating the plane and sabotaged the transport vehicle? We also don't get any understanding as to how the doctor was involved since he wouldn't have had any knowledge of diamonds on board the plane? Also the other killer is a pilot - how did he know there were diamonds on the plane since he really didn't have anything to do with the geologists? Also given the fact that Kate's character had been betrayed by her partner before she came to Antartica isn't it obvious that the real villain is someone close to her? If you MUST watch this movie wait till it comes on free to air TV or DVD.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Utter Rubbish
Hello All.
This is basically a movie made for die hard transformers fans. Unfortunately the movie is just a b grade movie dressed with lots of cgi. The only good things are the robots. The acting is rubbish. Megan Fox cannot act for peanuts. Also Shia LaBeouf is an overrated actor and really couldn't hold this trash together. People leave your brain at the door cause the plot in this movie is very thin. I actually think that the whole cast needs to be sent back to acting lessons. Also writers need to spend a little time in purgatory to pay for this sins of wasting our time and money. Don't bother buying this on DVD just wait for it to come on free to air TV.

Lake Mungo (2008)
Had potential but then just waned!!
I must say my interest was piqued after hearing about this movie. Basically it is fake documentary about the disappearance of a girl named Alice Palmer after going for a swim in a local river. After her disappearance strange things begin to happen in the family home. After the ending you feel like it had been cheapened. The acting is quite good. This is a family reminiscing about their dead daughter. Then the movie takes a semi twist and then it goes back and tries to scare us through a few suggestions that her ghost is in the house. So what if it's in the house? It did not try and attack them or instill fear into them. Instead this entity is quite happy just being there and 'hang around' them until they got some message. In the end the family moves out but the entity (ghost - familiar spirit) is still there. I mean what is the point to this movie? Is this a thriller or a drama where a family discovers there is a hidden past with their daughter. Also the audience never finds out "WHY" she did delve into this hidden part of her life. Was it just a temptation? Did she not feel loved? Was she seeking attention for another deficiency in her life? She had a boyfriend so why wasn't life rosy for her? Just too many unanswered questions? Great set up, good acting but cheap scares and a lot of holes.

The Uninvited (2009)
I felt that I was cheated
After hearing about this movie and all the rave reviews it got I did watch it but I must say that it left a bad taste in my mouth. The acting was good, the plot believable but then there is always this constant thought that runs through your head. Are my suspicions correct or is the director just setting me up for a twist in the end? The fact that the two sisters hated their soon to me step mom was obvious but then once the climax of the film is over and the film has reached its resolution you feel somewhat cheated by the directors in that they didn't give the audience a chance to unravel the mystery. Rather they lead you around a maize to several dead ends and then pulled a quick one on you in the end. There are also a few holes in the plot like as to how she managed to throw her boyfriend off the cliff. Also there was no mention of her sister dying in the house fire and so the audience is left feeling that they were set up from the start. I think a movie must present all facts and then deliver the 'surprise' ending and then movie goers will have some respect for it.

The Fourth Kind (2009)
Awesome Movie - The battle between good and evil is alive and well.
I honestly did not know what to expect from this movie. After watching this movie I must say that I am quite impressed. If you get nothing out of this movie but an understanding of the eternal battle between good and evil then the movie has served its purpose. I truly believe that God has used this movie to expose or bring to light the workings of Satan and his agenda. The words of Dr. Tyler will suffice. "It cannot be God but it can pretend to be". And no marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed into into ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Apparently Dr Tyler is bedridden only eternity will show how God has used to her to warn and forewarn people regarding Satan and his ministers.

Disturbia (2007)
You must be disturbed if you think this was a good watch!!!!
One thing this movie lacked was creativity and originality. The director should be shot if he thought that this lame excuse for a movie would interest people. Even a child of 7 years old could tell how the movie would pan out. This movie is VERY predictable. The acting is rubbish and the romance is boring. It got to the point where you wish you had a fast forward button since the "action" is in the last 20 mins. By the way this 'action' is nothing special. Hitchcock has nothing to worry about with this trash. Whoever wrote the script for this movie must be 'disturbed' to think that it is entertaining. Tedious is a better word because after a while you wish it could just end. Shia LeBeouf is very overrated as an actor. After watching Transformers 2 which was a very average action movie I don't expect much from his movies. To think that Carrie Moss would even consider such a movie as this leads to me to believe that she is desperate for money. The girl who plays the love interest is a poor excuse for an actor and the comic relief is irritating and unnecessary. DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS TRASH - WAIT TILL IT COMES ON TV AND WASTE 90 MINS OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
