Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (2022)
Probably cut short by writers strike
My only guess for abrupt cancellation was due to impending writers strike. One of the best sports series I've watched.
What made it believable was how closely the actors looked the actual subjects. Not easy to find actors who looked like athletes and could play game well
One odd pieces was there was no explanation of what became of Spencer Haywood after his cut from team.
Series should have gone at least 2 more years to finish Riley's tenure with the Lakers and Phil Jackson's resurrection of the franchise with Shaq and Kobi, and Magic acquiring AIDS.
Riley won 2 more championships with Lakers and Jackson was romantically involved with Jeanie Buss.
Gunsmoke: Tara (1972)
Related to "Overly Long"
In addition to the jail cell keys being easily accessible, Newly and Burke talk about the gold shipment loud enough so the LQ Jones character could hear them through the door. You would think they would not have talked so loud after closing door to the jail cells. Very "grade school" act.
Newly is also easily taken in by the Michele Carey character. She's a beautiful women and easy to see how he would be attracted to her, but she doesn't sound too bright. But i won't go any further as I don't want to give away more of the plot. It was an interesting yarn, however and worth the watch, even 50 years after it came out.
