La edad de la ira (2022)
Amazing storytelling
Like the previous reviewer, I also came here following Manu Ríos' success in Elite. But I was positively surprised by how good this mini series is. The story is not (and some characters) free of clichés, but the portrait of middle-class families in Madrid feels genuine and refreshing. But what really shines for me is the storytelling.
Because each episode narrates what happened through the eyes of a different character, the viewer constructs each individual personality differently, depending on who's telling us the story. This leads us to a very interesting build up to the final episode, where you expect Marcos to act in a way that's different from who really is. And that leaves the viewer thinking about how reality really is subjective and depends on who's describing it.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)
Simple: they made a whole new story
It's very simple to describe this movie: they created a whole new history, based on the world made by Rick Riordan. And there a lot of plot holes in it, that even if you didn't read the book you can notice. I think they changed the book so the movie could become more "blockbuster" if you know what I mean. Like that scene where Percy use Zeus's Lightning, he don't even TOUCH it on the book, but it's fun to see sparkles and shiny stuff with cool sound as a background. I think that's line of thinking Chris Columbus assumed while directing this movie. It sucked so bad. The only thing good about it was the actors, great acting by most of them and also great famous choices like Uma Thurman and Pierce Brosnan. Overall, the movie sucked, and I don't think they can make a sequel, hence all the characters are too old, compared to the book.
