Fargo (2014–2024)
7/10
The most abrupt downfall in quality I have ever seen
13 March 2024
The first 3-4 episodes are a solid 10. The amount of humour, malice, original Fargo, is off the charts. Billy Bob is out of this world. The best laugh I had in years.

And then it transitions to a moralising bore. And then, it continues in that direction, worse and worse. By the end of the first season I was just waiting for it to end, in order say "Fargo? Yeah, I have seen season one." and call it the day.

Granted, it would have been difficult to continue with the malice from the beginning. But the downfall was too abrupt. I cannot see myself investing time in another season. One without Billy Bob, which was responsible for 80% of the goodness in the first one.

No. Thanks.

7 stars because 10 for the first three episodes and then 4 for the rest, well, you do the math.

True Detective (2014– )

One of the most spectacular downfalls in the history of TV Shows
10 February 2024
I mean..., first season was absolute perfection. I have never seen such a fantastic dark-detective show! It went down some in the second season, although having Colin Farrell (see, one who actually evolved, from really bad - S. W. A. T. and Alexander - to really really good - In Bruges, The Gentlemen, Banshees of Inisherin, so it is possible) saves a lot, a little further down in the third, but man (pun intended) how much it went down in the fourth! Abolutely unbelievable! Why, oh, why, did you not stop at three? Ah, you needed to make a woman-only show. Well. Copy that. I just wish you picked another name, so True Detective remained true (pun... intended?).

Any movie with Jessica Chastain (if not an action movie) is a gem
7 November 2022
This woman can change mud into wine, really (like I said, unless it's an action movie, she's not Jesus, after all). I don't know if that's a good thing, but I have almost missed the plot altogether just observing the terrific monster of an actor that she is. Al Pacino could barely keep up, really.

Yes, it's an ancient tragedy and this not really appealing for today's standards. TV-theatre is difficult in itself, I would say. But it's more an acting exercise, take it as it is. Some people here have even complaint about the modern clothing. Come on, people... Just observe the best actress this century has produced and be glad you are alive at the same time.

Why all the stinging?
26 April 2022
Sandra Bullock is turned to stone by suffering her character endured. Either that, or the concrete/acid/something mask that she's wearing just doesn't let her act.

Really the worst of all Spider-man movies
31 March 2022
Not to say that Spider-man movies are for grown-ups, but this was by far the most childish of them all. I caught myself looking at the news on the phone waiting for the movie to finish.

Ever since Andrew Garfield stepped into the red(ish) shoes, the movies were really enjoyable. Tom Holland was even better (although Garfield is until now the far better actor). But this latest one is really a disappointment. And it cannot be only because Tobey Maguire is back in it (although it 'helps'). If anything, please don't bring Daniel Radcliffe in, to destroy the franchise once and for all.

They are doing DOCUMENTARIES about creation now???
29 January 2021
For God's sake (pun intended), they are doing DOCUMENTARIES about creation now. This is insane. A documentary is something based on facts, people. Facts, like evolution. And no, that's not a theory anymore.

So the main character HAD to be a woman.
23 December 2020
Everything happens in a recent real world, with real people, much of the main character's bio is common to the one of Bobby Fischer, but, to meet current standards, she had to be a woman. Things like this gave birth to something like Trump.

This woman can do nothing wrong.
26 October 2020
I have never seen such an actor or actress that can play in any movie and just make the movie great by his/her performance alone. This woman is unbelievable. Even Ava becomes watchable only because of her. Salomé is a special theatre/study filmed in a couple of days but what a gem it is. Al Pacino rises up to the challenge of Jessica and the both of them rise the hair of your arms until it hurts.

Jessica Chastain is brilliant event is this tragically bad movie
11 September 2020
This is a joke of a movie. Painful to watch. But as I said, Jessica Chastain manages to shine even here.

This is actually criminal activity from Netflix
6 August 2020
Spreading this kind if s#!~ is literally criminal, and surely hundreds of people will die as a direct consequence of them believing what they see on TV.

Did they take more doubles until ALL the actors got it wrong?
10 February 2006
I am a fan of the Star Wars series. But this one made me think that the director was patient enough to take enough doubles (easier with a digital camera) until all the actors were bad enough. Even Samuel L. Jackson managed to suck here! Which I had considered to be impossible. I am disgusted, but the best actor in the movie was Joda.

Why is Lucas allowed to direct? Evidently the best movies of the series were "The Empire strikes back" and "The Return Of The Jedi", and that, of course, not because of the actors (they were the same sorry bunch), but because Lucas understood at that time, he is better of cooking for the wife. The problem is, the Ego stroke back and he insisted on directing the last three. It's a shame, it could have been so much better.

3 out of 10, because there is always Titanic.
