Every Mother's Worst Fear (1998)
Arghhhh my mind is melting!
If you are a paranoid and ignorant of computers, your kids, minimum logic, and reality in general, this "movie" will sweet your mind and make you fell happy as a liter of drinks to an alcoholic. I am a computer engineer and somewhat I got trapped in front of my TV watching this thing for the computer topic. I confess I had a good time watching it, but they should tell us it is a "comedy" not a drama. I don't have the time to go with all details, and also there are a few fellas here that already gave us some hints.
Of course will be people out there that see Mickey Mouse as a pervert for exposing his tail, and no question this movie will enlighten them.
El disputado voto del Sr. Cayo (1986)
Great movie in the baby democratic Spain time frame.
This movie is based in the young democratic Spain after the death of Franco (thanks Zeus) and a leftist group running for office. Victor and his two collaborators go to the small towns of the mountain next to Madrid and there they meet Cayo, "The Mayor" of an small village of three people to try to gain their vote. Victor's leftist party fights for the rights of people like Cayo, so this is a great experience to experience their life; however, after Victor learns about Cayo life details he gets in a ideological crisis...
I think it is not fair the low rating is given here for this movie (4.8 currently) . I watched it recently in video and I think that has an strong and "behind the screen" message about ideals and politics and the lack of compatibility between them. This is a movie that denounces the conflict between collective ideal and tolerance, not for the closed mind (either in the left or right), it has an strong philosophical flavor and can be very enjoyable for the independent thinker. The movie uses street Spanish language from all different backgrounds and will be hard to understand for the non Spanish native, but so a good learning experience if you have some native Spanish aid.
