Djinn (2008)
An Incomprehensible Piece of Offal
If I could give a film zero stars, this would be the film. I watched this film with two of my friends, and not to sound arrogant, but we are not stupid people and we could not make sense of this. I understand the basic premise, but mostly from reading the back of the DVD box (where they misspelled the lead females name). There is a special feature on the film called 7 minutes of Film School, I am guessing this feature is an homage to the amount of time the director actually attended film school. Everything about this film reeked of pretentia, which is a word I had to make up to describe this film. There is no word in the English language, or any other language, that could describe what a piece of garbage this film actually is. We pride ourselves on our ability to enjoy films of a less than stellar nature. However, this film was not so bad that it was good (see also: Doomsday (2008)), it was so bad it reduced me to the level of a gibbering idiot.
Last week, I watched The Musketeer (2001); and as I watched that waste of celluloid, I thought to myself "Self, surely there could not be a bigger waster of time, money, and natural resources.", but this film proved me wrong.
To sum it up, if you enjoyed this film, you are probably on a substance that is currently either prohibited outright or strictly controlled by the government.
